Hello my mother recently gave me her old digital camera as she got a new one but I am unable to use it as any time I try to take a picture it tells me the memory card is protected. Any ideas on how to rectify this? thank you

Take the memory card out of the camera and look at it. SD cards have a slide switch along one edge. The position farthest from the contacts locks the card, protecting it from writes. The position nearest the contacts unlocks the card. If the switch is already in the proper position, slide it fully the other way and then back again.
If this is a new memory stick, some cameras require you to format it using the utility on the camera. If you haven't done so, you can try to format it. This will delete all contents on the memory stick.
If this is an old memory card, chances are it is already corrupted. Try to attach it directly on your laptop either on the SD card slot or a USB card reader.
http://www.manualnguide.com/download/manual-guide/goodmans-g-shot2025tft-camera-users-manual.html must have a memory card in it most stores would be able to tell you if they have a card to use in it or a larger one with more memory usually you use it and download it if its full get to a computer place your USB cord in the computer and down load the pictures into the computer from the camera and send them to yourself in an e-mail, then you can erase your card in the camera and your good to go filler up again
Either the camera will not support that size of card, or the memory is too fast for this camera. Likely it is the speed, as some newer cards are too powerful for slower cameras and off brands like this that dont have the right firmware
