After a drop, iPhone lower half of screen does not respond

Hello to all,
I accidently dropped my iPhone and the lower half of the screen does not respond to any taps or slides. Is there a way to fix it without going to a hardware service, because it seems not woth changing the screen, I might as well buy a new one!
Thank you for your time.
Sincerely,
Nikos Zacharakis

I also thought that replacing it would be the best solution :(

Its a problem with the touchscreen itself and that needs to be replaced..ive seen a lot of these lately and the last reeason would be replacing the lcd since formatting or restoring wont do any help.

Hi Sheila

If you have tried the Full Reset
Hold Home and top Side button down for 15 seconds
Shuts down
Top side button to restart

if that Fails you need to drop int an Apple Shop - book first
or mail it in

I dropped my phone today and now it wont work

When you dropped it you loosened up the digitizer connector which is number 2 under the screen. Open your iPhone and resit that wire firmly back in. That should fix the digitizer not working.

If its a 3G just unscrew the 2 screws at the bottom and use a suction cup to remove the screen. Easy. But if its a 2G then Good Luck.

India Iphone touch screen (bottom portion) not responding

As you have already said your iPhone has been tampered with, you have an Unlocked iPhone which renders the warranty Void, even if you put the phone back to defaults once the iPhone is in Apple's hands the software tools they run against your phone will tell them it has been hacked and you will get no support.
