Basic but !
Are you inserting the disc righy way round?
Try putting in in opposite way and see if that works.

First try the wii laser cleaner, if that doesn't work and it is on all games the ribbon cable connecting the drive to the motherboard is not connecting correctly or is bad. Can also be the logic board in the drive. Both are available on Ebay. First check the Ribbon Cable to make sure it is connecting correctly on both ends. There are several Guides on taking the Wii apart.

If the wii game is console is flat the disc goes in with the words down. If the wii game console is standing up the words will read to the right.

Is the disk dirty or scratched? This error commonly occurs when a damaged disk is unable to be read by the system. If your other games work, then the cause is likely the disk.

If this problem occurs only at this cd/dvd it's a disk problem. If it occurs on various disks try using a cd/dvd cleaner set, a wet one is better. Follow the instructions on the set. The main idea is to put one drip of the included liquid at the set (usually isopropyl alchohol) at a specific place (like small brush) on the disk surface and play this disk. This way the "brush" will clean up the laser lens and after that the cd/dvd player will be able to read the disks. BE CAREFULL not to put too much liquid on the "brush". In case you can, use a Q-tip with isopropylic alchool to clean up the cd lens manually. In case this don't solve your problem, the cd player needs laser lens replacement by a technician.

In case of a problem or clarification, don't hesitate to post me a reply.

Sounds like the drive or the laser has been dis lodged and needs to be repaired. Simple if you have basic electronics repair experience. Shouldn't cost too much to be repaired at a service centre, unless parts need replacing.

Hope this has been helpful.

I would definatly contact Nintendo customer support. It sounds like your Disc drive on the Wii is going bad. They will either fix or replace your wii, if it is still under warranty then they will do so at no cost to you.

well I have 3 kids and let me tell you this I had this happen a few times to me and guess what it was? the kids put the disk into the unit the wrong way.

Also as far as your case if it is not working 100% then it could be the lazer is out of alignment as well which is fixable.
