1. First of all, you need to shut off your computer. To do this press the power button on the front of the computer after you have shut it down from Start> Shutdown on your start menu.

2. Unplug the power cord from your computer. This is the big black/white/grey plug that plugs into the power supply on the back of your PC.

3. Unplug the rest of the wires from the back of the computer.

4. Find a sturdy flat surface on which to work on.

5. Unscrew all screws from the back of your computer except the power supply screws. You will make a mess if you unscrew the power supply screws.

6. Open your computer up by taking the side panel off, or sliding the cover off. It might be difficult but it will come off if you have taken all the screws out.

Can not open the case on a emachine t1831

Remove ALL cords plugged into the computer. Lay the computer on it's side with indent facing up and remove two large thumb screws from back. Pull the side towards the back using the indent for leverage. If it is really stuck insert a small flat blade the in the slot between the front cover and side and CAREFULLY twist as you slide the blade from to bottom. The side needs to slide towards the back before it can be removed.

Open emachines el1352g-41w

Open the eMachines EL1352G-41W computer case?

Unplug the computer from power. Unplug all cables. Turn the computer tower around so the back faces you.

Look at the Left side. This Side Panel removes.
There is a handle for your fingers, formed out of the Side Panel's sheet metal.

Above the handle along the edge, and towards the Top, there is a Philips head screw. Loosen this screw. (It isn't supposed to come all the way out)
Down below the handle, and towards the bottom, is another Philips head screw. Loosen this screw.

Use the handle in the Side Panel, to pull back on it. Pull towards the back of the computer tower.

The Side Panel may only pull back so far. There may be tabs which stick out of the Side Panel, and go into slots in the computer tower's case.

For this style the Side Panel will only pull back approximately 1 inch, or so.
Then the Side Panel is brought straight out away from the computer tower, and laid aside.

[ NOTE*
Do NOT forget to observe Anti-Static Precautions BEFORE reaching inside your computer, and working on it.

Computer on a table, computer unplugged from power, computer case open.
TOUCH an unpainted surface, of the metal frame of the open computer case.
This action will relieve your body of Static.

Should you leave your computer in the middle of working on it, be SURE to Touch the metal frame again upon your return.

I have an Emachine ET1331g. How do I open the casing to reveal its inner contents?

The eMachines ET1331G desktop computer uses the eMachines NexGen 3 computer case.

Looking at the computer from the Front, the Left Side Panel removes.

Looking at the back you will be viewing the Right side.
There are two screws to remove, then the side panel is slid Back. (Towards the rear of the computer)

There is a raised protrusion in the middle of the Side Cover on the back. This is where your fingers go to pull back on the Side Panel.

There is one screw coming down from the top, on the edge of the Side Panel, and one screw coming up from the bottom.
(Philips head screws)
Remove them.

Slide the Side Panel back. It will only slide back so far, as there are tabs coming from the Side panel, into slots of the computer case.
Once it stops sliding back, take it straight out to the side. Lay the Side Panel aside.

Here is a photo detailing the back of the ET1331G from eMachines Support,

http://support.gateway.com/emachines/desktop/2009/emachines/et/ET1831/ET1831rv.shtml

The two screws on the Right side, as you are viewing the computer from the Rear, as shown here.

NOTE*

1) Computer UNPLUGGED from power

2) Observe Anti-Static Precautions BEFORE reaching inside the computer, and BEFORE handling hardware parts.

Anti-Static Precautions:
Your body carries Static electricity.

Static WILL fry out (Short Circuit) the hardware components in a computer.

Computer on a table, computer unplugged from power, computer case open.
TOUCH the metal frame of the open computer case to relieve your body of Static.

Should you leave your computer in the middle of working on it, be SURE to touch the metal frame again upon your return.

There should be 2 screws on the back. The side panel will slide off and then you can insert it into a PCI slot.

Add in slots

if you are talking about pci cards and all of that you have to open the computer from the side removing the screws on the back and sliding the cover towards the back of the CPU. After you remove the side, check the filler you want to remove and there is just 1 screw that holds each one of them, remove that screw and pull the filler out. that opens the bay for you to install a modem, pci card etc.

if it works for you don't forget to rate me
thx

Emachine T2824 will not power on...green lite on m/b on.

If you plugged it in and nothing happens please don't make sticking a screwdriver in it normal practice.:) It sounds like your power supply went out. It is a normal part you can pick up at any computer parts store. I would take the old one out of the case and get all the numbers off of it and replace it. Before you do that however look in the computer one more time and make sure the motherboard is plugged in. It will be a big rectangle plug. Most of the time it is white.

You can get the power supply out by taking four or five screws out of the back of the computer. This link will walk you through the process one step at a time.
