Question about Sony KP-57WS500 57" Rear Projection Television
I am adding to a posting i placed a week or so ago. When i cut on my tv and just have the video screens showing, it is a light blue screen with arced lines in the picture. In the 15 seconds it stays on, i can scroll through the video screens and see this on all of them. When it gets to the non-video screen, it just looks like a normal static screen. I was told by a tech i called that this may be more than a flyback transformer on the d board. Can i get a second opinion to what this could be or if it is still the transformer. After it shuts off it gives me a diagnostic code of 8 flashes.
Since you get a picture for a while, it is unlikely to be either the flyback or the horizontal output transistor as those would not allow a picture for any amount of time. You would jsut get the 8 flashes. This sounds more like an over voltage problem that could be in the regulator circuit. I'll look up the service manual on this one and get you more details.

click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
