I downloaded "Pool Sharks" from the internet & on trying to uninstall it Windows Installer is telling me that "the syste administrator has set politics to prevent installation" & that I "do not have sufficient access to uninstall Pool Sharks. Please contact your system administrator" which I am hereby doing. Thanks.

I tried your solution & started my pc in safe mode, the only user names that were available were my usual two, no option for administrator, so I went into the control panel anyway & once more tried to delete Pool Sharks. I then got a message from Windows Installer telling me that 'this service could not be accessed. This can occur if the Windows Installer is not correctly installed. Contact support personnel for assistance'. I then tried to change the programme & was then advised that 'Windows Installer is not available in safe mode.

I can't sign in my yahoo messenger

Few sugesstions :
1) Uninstall your current YM, restart your pc/laptop, then try installing a new one. Link : a) b)
2) If it does not work, try check if your windows is installing new updates, sometimes YM does crash when window is updating. If you are using Win7, then just go to: --> Control panel/ System & security/ Windows Update/ Change setting
In the setting panel, you will see "Important Updates" box selection. Change it to "Check for updates but let me choose whether to download & install them". Restart your pc/laptop, then try log in to your YM.
3) If it still crash, then your internet connection might be the problem, & also, Yahoo! can be down sometimes too.

Could not open the program from shortcut so I uninstalled the program and when I went to reinstall it tells me "Chrome installer does not supprot with administrative priviledges" What can I do...

Try opening the installer as an administrator. This should be as simple as right-clicking the installer and selecting "Open as administrator". Otherwise, try using CCleaner and/or Revo Uninstaller to get rid of stuff left behind from the last installation.

I am using Internet Explorer 8 and just recently, Windows Installer pops up only on random web pages that I open. I just click cancel and it finally goes away. I have Windows XP. Any suggestions?

You are getting this popup because of old or out-dated Windows installer program in your PC.

There are 2 solutions to get rid of this issue.

Solution 1

1. Click "Start" and click Run
In the Small window type "msiexec /unregister" ( without quotes ), then press "Enter" or Press OK. You will not see anything happen during this process.

2. Click "Start" and click Run
In the Small window type "msiexec /regserver" (Without Quotes) then press "Enter" or Press OK button. You will not see anything happen during this process.

And then,

2. Click "Start" and click Run
In the Small window type "Services.msc" ( without Quotes ) and hit Enter key or Press OK.
Search for Windows Installer in the list. Double click and open the Windows Installer and under Start Type " Select Automatic " and click Apply and Click OK. Close the window

Now you can try to access Internet Explorer. If you still get the pop up message, You will have to Download and install the latest Windows Installer program from Microsoft Website

Windows Installer Download

Choose WindowsXP-KB942288-v3-x86.exe - 3.2MB from the list to download and then install.
When you click on download button, It will prompt you to save or Run. Click Run.

Install and later restart the PC.

I have windows xp SP! installed on my Dell laptop. When I tried installing Yahoo Messenger 9.1, 10 and 11 versions, I have been always getting this error message "incorrect line command...

Have you had Yahoo Messenger on the computer before? If so make sure it is completely uninstalled before trying to install it again. You may need to use the Windows installer cleanup utility to do it completely if it has already been uninstalled.
There are more recent versions of the Windows Installer:-

Also please try an upgrade the computer to sp3 if its not:-

I am having a problem with Adobe Reader 8.1.1. I am using Windows XP. Originally the program ran fine, but lately when I click on a link on a website that uses Adobe Reader I get a message that says...

do you the original installer of your adobe reader?

if you..when uninstalling adobe and the error occurs just browse for the .msi in your adobe installer and hit ok...

after it foxit reader and install it instead of the adobe reader....

hope this helps
