Question about Kenmore 94223 Electric Kitchen Range

Open Question

Kenmore Elite electric kitchen range, modle: C970-692641

By accident I press the lock button function on the electronic controls. This has left all the other push button functions in the disable state, with the exception of the numeric pad (0 to 9), the start and cancle buttons. I have tried turning on and off the power for a few hours but that did not help.
Is there a manufactures default code or something simple that I am missing?
I read the owners manual and it is my understanding that there is a self clean function that locks the oven. During that time the functions of the electronic key pad are disabled, until the self clean cycle is complete are they restored.
My guess is the electronic board is looking for a cycle complete signal before it remove the lock function. But a self clean command was not instructed so there is no cycle complete.

I suspect the timer is involved in this process. It can be set to clean automatically. You need to set the complete time at least 2 hours after start.

It appears your timer/main controller/CCU CLOCK has failed in this instance.

For replacement parts - head on over to PartSelect.com or RepairClinic.com and enter in your full model number for a full parts listing.
I recommend both sites because ...

FixYa has no affiliation with either site - I have been using and recommending them for years - trouble free.

PartSelect has a great schematic database for locating the part on your unit and great "testimonials" for each part that often times includes HOW-TO information.
RepairClinic has pictures of each part they sell and also a great how-to and troubleshooting for basic repairs.

If your unit has never been serviced - there should still be an original service manual enclosed in plastic taped to the inside of the shell.
In the service manual are Error codes, maintenance procedures, and troubleshooting steps you can follow.

Anything too complicated or beyond your scope should be handled by a professional.

If you think you want to tackle the repair - and have gotten stuck on a step - reply to your question and I will be glad to help you out.

SOURCE: Kenmore 95024 Electric Range The self clean cycle Door stuck shu

The E1- F5 error is a door lock error.

The control (TIMER) has likely failed in this instance - BUT...

Sometimes when you disconnect power to a range and reconnect it the electronic range control gets confused.
You should disconnect power again for 15 seconds and reconnect and see if that helps.

If it doesn't cure the E1- F5 error hold the bake button in until E0- F2 appears in the display.
This is the error for a stuck button on the keypad and is the way to clear the memory of the electronic range control.

Sometimes these work, but if the control has failed it won't make any difference.

This may be a silly question but, did you just try turning off the circuit breaker for a couple minutes to see if it resets itself when you flip it back on?

Oven door is locked out - Sears no help

      1. Step 1 Read the display on the electronic oven controls, where the clock and timer normally appear. If the display reads "CLN" while the "Door Locked" light is on, the Kenmore range is in self-clean mode. When the Kenmore range is in self-clean mode, you must stop the cleaning process before the door will unlock.
      2. Step 2 Stop the self-cleaning process by pressing and holding the "Stop/Clear" button for three seconds. The oven lock should disengage after three seconds. In some cases, a malfunction between the control panel and the locking mechanism prevents the door from unlocking.
      3. Step 3 Hold the light switch for several seconds if the "Stop/Clear" button fails to unlock the range door. Engaging the light switch for several seconds resets the entire locking mechanism and overrides the "Stop/Clear" button.
