Re: PVCLE266M_L Error Ram
One beep is good. How many beeps is important. Beep codes are listed by BIOS manufacturer. Also in the basic setup deselect ECC if the RAM is not ECC (Error checking mostly used by server environments -private users rarely care). Remove and reseat RAM one at a time making sure that you have the correct RAM -Kingston is good but make right and wrong RAM for your computer). If there is no display then you must try to enter setup. Again -the beep codes are important. At the keyboard press Caps Lock and see if the corresponding light goes on at keyboard. If it does go on then look at monitor to see if the status light is yellow or green. Yellow means no signal from mobo. If the keyboard has no lights then there is no POST from motherboard (mobo). If there is more than one beep them there is RAM defect or video defect. Repost with results if you need more help.

The fault could be the cpu, wrong type of ram, a faulty ram module
or a fault in the mainboard.
Check all the settings in the manual and the bios aswell.
Here is a list of beep codes: Basic Beep Codes for ABIT AWARD BIOS Motherboards
No beep at all - this means your motherboard is dead, either due to a defective or underpowered power supply, poorly seated CPU or RAM, or a dead-on-arrival board
One beep - board is working fine
One long beep then machine shuts down - faulty, improperly installed or missing CPU
1 short(Beep) System booting is normally
2 short(Beep) CMOS setting error
1 long - 1 short(Beep) DRAM ERROR
1 long - 2 short(Beep) Display card or monitor connected error
1 long - 3 short(Beep) Keyboard Error
1 long - 9 short(Beep) ROM Error
Long(Beep) continuous DRAM isn't inserted correctly
Short(Beep) continuous POWER supply has a problem
A two-tone siren, generally caused by overheating or out of specification voltages
Four beeps then machine shuts down. This is because this version of the BIOS will shut down your machine if no fan tachometer signal is detected on the fan header. Make sure you attach a fan to the FAN1 or FAN4 header or clear CMOS to reset to default (no checking).
Your mainboard PVCLE266M-L does not support the DDR 400 Mhz RAM (PC3200) ie @ 400Mhz frequency. For the memory specfications it support "2 x 184-pin DIMM sockets support two2.5V DDR SDRAMs (DDR266)" maximium is 2GB or DDR PC2100 ie @ 266Mhz frequency.
PC133 is the SDRAM so it will not fit the DDR RAM slot.
You should not use the 400MhzDDR memory RAM on a Mainboard with a FSB(Front Side Bus) of 133 Mhz and the 400Mhz DDR Ram is not compatible with the mainboard.
Get the DDR 266 with double side chipset i.e.DDR1 RAM (DDR PC2100) RAM and it will be compatible with your mainboard. Sometimes single side chipset DDR1 RAM will not work on older mainboard.
was you check your ram?/is your ram ok, usually the ram that half dead make this response, plug off ram then hear is there any beep, if yes change your ram if no its mean *********** board was damaged, change your motherboar
i hope this helpfull, please raet very helpfull or helpfull if you think this helpfull
thanks for using fixya
Pls go through the steps given below... 1. Ensure that the 12 volt 4 pin connector is fixed correctly 2. If there any Beep sounds(Long beep=Memmory complaint) 3. Try replacing or re-installing RAM and HDD 4.Try with another SMPS (Display will not come if 3.3V,5V....missing)
