Question about Ovens

Oven smoking hi,hope you can help me!my smeg oven (even after a good clean!) smokes when ever im cooking something.Is there a vent or something which could be blocked or something?!just cooked a roast chicken on a low heat but whenever i open the door to check it theres lots of excessive smoke issuing!!!!could you advise me of this...?many thanks smoking oven

    i have a problem with simpson electric oven smoking

    and the things i bean told to do is not put the baking

    tray to high up in the oven as this will make it smoke

    if it is to close to the top element you have to put on

    lower rack and allway have flat tray under the baking

    tray as will catch any spillage ending up on the botten

    element you allso use oven bags thay help with spater

    on the elements i hope this is help full

Smoke is caused only by fat getting onto an element and should stop after a while, ie when all the fat is burnt off. this is usually a problem with the grill element.
you can get a finjhe mesh grid which fits over the centre vent in the back plate and this should help

I am pretty sure this is just the steam escaping. Smeg ovens seal so evenly that the steam stays in the oven.

Smoke is coming from between oven and microwave especially when it's on self clean very foul oder


Very likely you are cooking some thing vegetable or animal that has been left over inside the stove. If you wanted to keep it, you might try to take it outside and let it burn off, this might take weeks. If you wanted to take it all apart, you might find the problem, although you might wish you had not.

Can i use one of those spray products to clean my oven , glass door and heating element. I have the problem of the oven smoking if i raise the temp over 220 to cook things such as pork.


If you're going to clean the element use just plain soap and water with a good rinse.. Anything you put on the burner that doesn't evaporate perfectly will smoke and may be bad for you when you open the door to see how things are going.

Hi.



Smoke coming from the oven is not normal. Ensure that the smoke is not vapour coming from the food inside the oven.


If there is vapour coming from the hinge area, then ensure that door and hinges are installed properly.


If you get smoke from the oven, try cleaning the oven cavity, follow the instructions on manual to clean the oven.


If after cleaning the oven, there is still smoke coming from the bottom side, then call Smeg and have the oven replaced. There is one or two years warranty on the appliance.
Smeg support and service phone number is listed in the oven manual.

Smoke coming from electric oven element


if it is the upper element is smoking when in use then its usuall grease/fatty deposits that have attached itself from previous cooks.. the only way to rid is to open doors & windows then turn to max temp to burn off... 5-10 mins usually suffice dependant on quantity. looks bad initially but soon it will be heating clean again..

soundsas if you have a dirty stove, Id reccommend running through en extended cleaning cycle, it will SMOKE, that s geting rid of any food/grease trapped inside the flue and cabinet of unit

Smoking Fan Assisted Oven


Is the smell a food smell or other smell. If it is food, then some food has gotten behind the blower motor. Clean behind it good. Even some small particles have gotten in there somehow. You can also feel thye sufaces of the oven and tell if there is some buildup.

Oven smokes


If it smoke smells of burnt food or grease you have something on the surface of the element which is burning off.

If it is an acrid smoke it could be the element itself is on the way out or the fan (if it is a fan oven).

You need to make a visual check of the element/fan to ascertain their condition and clean or replace as necessary.

SMEG A21X-5 Freestanding Cooker: Main oven has smoke/fumes everytime its used!


usual cause of fumes is if the grill is in the oven, when for example a roast is done, fat spits onto the grill element and the circular element and smokes. if you leave it on, the smoke will clear. some ovens have a fat guard which clips over the grill in the centre of the back panel to prevent this.
to clean glass, just use scouring pads - glass is virtually impossible to scratch
