Question about Gateway Computers & Internet

1 Answer

I called 408 273-0808 this past Saturday. The man I spoke to asked me to load all my files on a hard drive so I could get a full factory reload. I called tonight to get the factory reload. A guy answered by the name of Bern -badge # GWEM 32996152. He said my warranty had expired and that he couldn't do anything for me. I tried to explain that I haven't had the computer a year. He started to scream at me. I asked him not to raise his voice at me and asked to speak to a supervisor. He said that was not possible. I asked him for his badge # and that is when he proceeded to give it to me. I am soooooooo upset. I called again and had the same luck with a female employee, with the exception that she would not even give me her badge number or her name. I have never owned a gateway computer and thought that customer service was great according to your commercials, but was sadly mistaken. I need to speak to a supervisor as soon as possible. This will be the last gateway I purchase, and will pass on my horrible experience to all who will hear. How are you going to make this right. It is now a matter of principle. I need to know where the nearest office is located.

Well..firstly..this is not the gateway operation at all. we are independent folks. perhaps there is a way to gain a footing with this situation. let me know.

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

This is a hard drive issue or windows have corrupt files, if you have the installation disc try and reload the operational system, if no change! have the hardware checked out at a computer repair store.

My smartbook wont load or go past the startup Sylvania screen it just stays on the screen that says..... SYLVANIA When u first turn it on

The problem is hard drive issues or windows has been corrupted, remove hardware and reseat it back in place, that will sometimes restart it, no change! use the CD installation disc "if available" to reload your operational system to factory setting. If still no result! hard drive needs to be assessed for replacement.

My toshiba wont load up windows

There are any number of reasons why this is the case, hard drive issues, or corrupted window files. Remove hardware and reseat back into position, hard drive may start, if not! use your recovery disc if available to reload windows to factory settings, if no change the hard drive needs to be checked by a professional.

Hi our dell 1720 printer has been printing hundereds of pages of nothing but gibberish since saturday. At first I thought it was trying to print a file someone deleted before cancelling from the que but...

I've found when this happens to our printers after we reload the driver the printer prints fine. You may not even need the disk. You can go to the Advanced tab in the printer properties and the driver should still be loaded on the PC's hard drive.

When booting up my computer it goes to the error page prior to loading windows and asks what mode...regardless of choice it goes to windows logo screen and sits there and wont load...

1. check to see if your pc is compatible with the software. You didn't specify if you are reloading or installing for the first time.
2.You didn't give hard drive capacity or any information about the Pc you are loading Windows on.
You may not have enough capacity on the hard drive to load the full XP
Wndows xp requires about 2 GB of hard drive space then at least 10 GB of space for swap files and operation files.

Windows is corrupt...reload Win OS....if possible re-install Windows in a different partition say D: or E: etc (if u have more than 1 partition) and then once done let it boot from that and let Win load....take a full backup of all of your critical data to a USB pen drive....then reload Win CD in the Cd drive, switch off and switch on PC let it boot from CD and delete all partition on HD, format the disk fully and repartition the disk and load Win in C:
pls leave a feedback

Need to reload windows xp on Emachines PC

Yes all you have to do is.........

Turn off the Computer
Turn back on and Press F11 repeatedly when the message "Press F11 to start recovery" is displayed.
The recovery will load and display a menu of options:

Full System Restore (with Backup): This options will move all Hard Disk contents to the "c:\My Backup" directory and install a new copy of Windows. This option preserves your existing data files, however all applications and settings will need to be reinstalled. This option requires 4GB of free Hard Disk space for the new OS.

Alway suggest backing up your data before you do any recovery

Question about my hard drive

LOL , no my friend , you simply lost your HAL.dll , hardware abstraction layer

you need to reinstall windows , thats the easy way out

or you can take the hard road to china and attempt to recopy your HAL.dll to the proper location on the drive , my personaly I don't even go there , a fresh copy of windows is so much better in these instances because you don't know what else has gone wrong at this point , best to do a reinstall
because there really is nothing like a good ole fresh load of the operating system.

take the puppy back to school like it was at the factory baby :->
