If the tuner is not damaged many shops will replace it for you for $50. If you want to try to do it yourself you will have to remove the back unsolder the tuner and remove the sheilds then solder in a new RF connector and reassemble. If that helps let me know.

I triped over the cable cord. Cable cord end that protrudes fron TV was broken off. need to replace it so I can get cable reception. Please Help .Other wise the T V was showing great.

I'm sorry to tell you this ... when this happened with the TV at work (a camp;ing resort), we found the "F" connection was mounted to a printed circuit board attached to the 'motherboard' of the TV. The board was more than $100.00. We bought a new board and the new kid got to it before I could and he mixed up the wires. After the technician was done with it, the bill was another $250.00.

What I can recommend to you to prevent future damage is dont connect the cable to the TV -- get a short piece of cable and fasten your TV to a "F" fitting stand-off which would be firmly mounted to non strategic part of your TV. Then connect the cable to the stand off. Next time it is pulled on, it will pull the end off your cable (fix for a couple bucks) and not tear the guts out of your TV.

The parts are probably available to you. Make sure you have the right parts in your hand before you do anything ... and then take lots of pictures and notes as you remove the old and insert the new.

I hope this helps you ...

Loose UHF connector

That connector is just press-fit into a metal shield around the set's tuner. It's commonly broken loose by overtightening the cable connection or tripping over the cable and yanking on it. In bad cases it can be broken completely off the set. It really doesn't "leak" anything but can cause a poor picture and allow interference to get in.

The connector can be soldered back into place with the aid of a suitable-size soldering gun. You should be able to find a TV servicer who still makes house calls. With labor and trip charge, I'd guesstimate around $100. The shop I worked for got $72 for this repair, and that was nearly 10 years ago. It is also possible for do-it-yourselfers to make this repair if they have the soldering skills. But even if you pay someone it's still less than the cost of a new set.

This can be soldered back into the tuner if the board in the tuner is not broken. If you need a new connector any electronics supply store will carry it.

Broke the piece where the cable wire goes in...what's it called?

Unfortunately, that coax connector  is almost certainly crimped onto a cable inside.  You might want to pull off the back panel to see if that internal cable is screwed onto another jack on the chassis. If so, you can disconnect that end and substitute another cable, they come in several different lengths and are not critical. Any electronics store will have them.
If it isn't equipped with a connector inside, you will need to have someone unsolder the defective cable and install a new one.

The part is called and "F" connector. It can be purchased but it also muist be soldered in place. This is not a trivial task. The F connector is part of the tuner. For a set of this size, it may be easier to replace the tuner rather than fool around with a repair attempt. Depending upon how it was broken, the PC board inside the tuner may be broken as well requiring tuner replacement anyway.

I broke off coax cable on back of 32 inch tv. I can watch dvds with AV cables but not cable TV. How do I connect cable from wall to tv if coax is broken off

This depends on how many available inputs you have on the back of the set. If you have more available you can just hook up the cable box composit (yellow, red, and white cables) if not you will need to replace the rf connector or tuner in the set. let me know if you need more help.

Cable connector broke off rear of tv

This is a common problem and as long as the internal PC board inside the tuner is not broken, the connector can be replaced. The connector should not cost more than about $5. ANy local service shop should be able to replace it for you.

Cable connector broken

You can buy replacement antenna jacks for this. What you have to do is remove the tuner and it's shields, then unsolder the little tab off the board of the tuner which is what remains when they break off. Then you can resolder the new jack in place and the center pin back to the board of the tuner.

Coaxial input jack on the TV broken off so I cannot connect my coaxial cable from wall

If you are comfortable doing some small repair work, you might be able to fix this with stuff you have laying around.

All you need is:
1 - 8" piece of coaxial cable with male connector on one end
1 - set of RCA cables (Red/White/Yellow)
1 - coaxial coupler
2 - small wire nuts

electrical tape

Take the back housing off of your TV. You may have to unscrew the small nut holding the threaded connector to the TV. This threaded connector should connect to the motherboard with a male RCA prong that should be soldered to the component on the motherboard. You will need to carefully cut
& remove the old soldering & wiggle the connector off. This is the hardest part, but it WILL come off with a little trying.

Now get your coax cable and strip off about 2" of the black outside housing ONLY. Your solid copper` interior cable should be protected by a small plastic coating which is covered in braided wire. You'll need to be careful not to cut the braiding off. Untangle the braiding down to where your cut stops and try and get it all on one side of the cable so you can twist it all together and make a nice wire. Now strip about an inch off of your interior plastic sheathing to reveal the small solid copper wire on the very inside.

Get your RCA cable and cut about 6" off of the one yellow side. Follow the same process above to get a braided sheathing wire and a solid copper wire. Attach this yellow wire to the coaxial cable by twisting the two braided wires together and the two solid copper wires together. Use your wire nuts & electrical tape to secure your connections making sure none of the wires can touch each other.

Connect the yellow cable's male prong into the component on the motherboard and attach your coaxial coupler to the male end of your coaxial cable. If you saved the small nut from earlier, you can re-attach this new coupler to the housing on your TV. Screw your housing back on the TV and you should be good to go.
