I have rebuilt a couple of DS Lites but I have one that will not power up after the new housing was installed. It will blink when the power switch is turned on and nothing else. Is there any connections that must touch in order to it power up. Also, the top screen seem not to work as well. I have changed the screen but still no luck. Is there something I'm missing.
I figured it out... make SURE that the ribbon cable from the upper screen is up into the connector as far as it can go... When I redid both of mine they both had this problem. I've since researched it more, and found this to be a problem (which makes sense as I tried to turn it on w/o the top screen connected as well and it did the same exact thing)...
Make sure that the black tabs on the cable as up touching (well almost) the white connector before you push down the black clip thing that holds it in place. Once you get it connected right, it should work for you (it did on two of mine)...

Same thing happened to me.. I took off carburator and rebuilt it with a 20 Dollar seal and jet rebuild kit. i found all gaskets worn out. all tiny fuel inlets clogged....started first pull after and videos on rebuild on youtube make it too simple!
Unfortunately, these vehicles are known to have transmission problems. You'll need a rebuild, or you'll have to buy a rebuilt or new transmission and install it.
I recommend going with a fresh rebuild or buying a rebuilt/new transmission. Junkyard or "used" transmissions from these vehicles are prone to the same problems that yours is currently having. Most rebuilders such as Jasper will "improve" the design of their rebuilt transmissions to prevent known internal problems from happening again, and the other upside is they have a warranty!
The rebuild manual---ATSG Manuals. Avail on their website or locally at a Trans Parts Supply house. Ask a local trans shop where they get there parts and get it there.
The fact you have shavings in the pan. The ONLY answer, is to pull the trans and take it to a Trans Shop and have it rebuilt. Then install a rebuilt converter and add a quart of fluid, before installing the converter.
You do what is called an over the counter. Your bring in the trans, they rebuild it in a couple days with all the latest updates. That is the least expensive way to go.
If they pull it, you surely will have things broken and pieces and parts missing when you get it back.
I don't have a solution but here's a couple of thoughts.
1. What were the problems that caused the tranny to be rebuilt at 36900? Were those problems similar to what you are experiencing now?
2. Did they rebuild your transmission or drop in another rebuilt one?
3. If you are still under warranty (I don't know when it was rebuilt), I would hustle back there and complain. In fact I'd do that even if it's not under warranty.
your ds is completley broke you either have to go to a gamestore like gamestop, ebash u know those places to get it fixed or buy a new one.But most places dont sell ds lites anymore so youl have to buy a dsi or get your ds fixed somewhere
Is the lamp light blinking twice every 5 seconds or once every 5. Once every 5 sec. lamp failure,...twice every 5 sec.. ballast or thermal fuse. The ballast is discontinued and must be rebuilt or purchased used,.....try Ebay. NO TV REPAIR SHOP IS GOING TO HAVE THE BALLAST! They may be prudent enough to check into and find the rebuild kit for the ballast. FYI a rebuilt ballast costs around $175.00 ,....the rebuild kit costs anywhere from $12.00-$55.00
if you just had it rebuilt should ba a warranty if is was im sure you wouldnt be on here asking so did you install new torque converter when the trans was rebuilt? check the trans filter not clogged how long did it run after the rebuild or did you install it yourself after the rebuild and it doesnt work ? let me just say the torque converter should always be replaced with the transmission new or rebuilt and when the transmission is being installed you have to make absolutely sure the converter is all the way back on the trans if not you will damage the front pump on trans and would need to replace it .

It turns out it was the F2 Fuse on the mainboard.
You have to solder over the fuse bypassing it.
