Question about HP Wireless Optical Mouse

1 Answer

Frozen Mouse I have an HP 5187URF+ wireless mouse. It works great; EXCEPT, I have to hit control-alt-delete and then "switch to" a few clicks after start-up for it to work properly. I removed and then added the driver but that didn't work. Any suggestions?

On m husbands hp laptop the curser is frozen how can i unfreeze it

Sometimes just leaving it for a couple of minutes will fix the problem (the computer may be running something in the background).

It is plugged in isn't it?

Is the mouse wireless? Are the batteries OK? Is the receiver close enough to the mouse (ie it hasn't fallen off the table?)

Is it a ball or optical mouse - if optical can you see a light? If not the mouse may be faulty - try unplugging and then plug back in.

Try pressing ctrl alt del together and using the tab button move e highlighted box to the task manager and press enter (or press alt t) - does anything on the applications tab say something other than running - if yes using the tab key highlight that one and press alt e.

If this does not solve the problem try switching off the machine, leave for a couple of minutes and then restart. If this does not work now you will probably need to replace the mouse.

Key board 4000 not working, mouse work, replaced the batteries

Try using CTRL, ALT, DELETE. It sounds like you may have locked your
keyboard by accident. Once you hit CTRL, ALT, DELETE, it will bring up the
log in page. Simply enter your password, if any, and you should be good to
go.

I lost the connection between my mouse and the computer - I'm not sure how to reset

Try reseting the usb connection. The computer will rediscover the usb "device" and may find it again. Then try pressing the resync button which is probably on the usb dongle. If this doesn't work, press control alt delete. This will bring up your security or process control prompt (depending on how it's set up). If nothing happens after pressing control alt delete, your computer may have frozen (requiring you to cycle power on the computer). If it comes up, use your tab key to cycle through the buttons to the "shutdown" or "restart" button. Once you've reset, you should have your mouse again.

Hope this helps,
Bill

Microsoft Wireless Notebook Laser Mouse 7000.

Hi

It is not the problem with the mouse
Since you have said
"I have to key in Ctrl-Alt-Delete to unfreeze it"

Which means an application in the os is taking a lot of memory and cpu consumption
thats why it seems not working

******************
To confirm it(Whether mouse is causing trouble)) try running any live operating system(Linux,ubuntu,suse,fedora..etc) or different os(LInux...etc)and check whether the problem still persists

if yes leave me a comment . i will help you out

hope this will help you
