mod# GS6SHEXMS00 SS#SP4940151 12/03, is there some way of fixing without taking door apart.
Usually there is a small hex screw somewhere near where the handle meets the door. If you can find one, then just tighten it. Otherwise you might have to take the door apart if there isnt any apparant way the handle attaches to the door.

It may seem crazy, but you have to remove the dryer door, and then take the door apart to be able to replace the handle! I've tried doing it without taking the door apart, and I only ended up damaging the door and replacement handle!
Hi You will have to open the oven door and take the screws out of the side that faces inwards to the oven. Once the screws are removed the door will come apart. And then you can tighten the screws to secure the handle better. Also before you do that look under the handle and make sure there are not any set screws in it that tightens down to an anchor. They usually will be hex or allen screws .
I also have an '08 that had this problem you are talking about where the front part of the handle became loose when pulling on it. I ended up taking it to the dealer and they fixed it under warranty in about an hour or so
remove the inner door panel and see if you just pulled the linage rod loose from the clip to the door latch if so it is just a plastic clip or it could have a threaded end and you might be able to just reinstall it into the metal clip and adjust it accordingly.Hope that helps.
Check to see if your freezer handle has an inlay in the handle or trim that pops off to get at a screw that holds the handle onto the door. If you don't have this then you may have a handle that literally slides up and off. You then tighten the mounting screws or replace the handle if that is what is making it loose. We no longer can tear apart the doors on refrigerators to get at components inside, because the factory puts these together and shoots liquid insulation into the cavity, and this insulation expands and hardens making it impossible to tear doors apart anymore. This is why most handles now are front repairable. Good Luck. Appliance Specialists
sure , if you look underthe handle is there perahps a small screwhole in which you can tighten handle??this may be prior year in which case if there are no screw holes present you need to grab hold of handle and with a "brisk" pull to the right it will come off hiddenclips, the clips can be t ightened and resecure by snapping back the oppisite way the handle pullled off
First, why is the handle falling off? Is it loose or damaged? Most of these handles are only plastic with holes tapped in. If the holes are damaged and you can't fix them, you will have to replace. Most handles are through bolted in the door. You should be able to access those screws from the inside of the door. If not....
How do take a door apart: First locate any screws in the bottom of the door. Remove them. Open the door and remove screws from the sides and inside of door. Get help supporting the outside of the door and note that it will snap shut when you remove any weight from the door. Caution, most door glass is not well clipped in...it may come loose!!!! You may want to take pictures of the inside of the door once you open it. Once the door is apart, locate any fasteners holding the handle and attempt to tighten them. If not successful, you'll need that new handle. Get an extra set of hands to help with removal and reinstallation of that door skin. You'll need 'em!
All my micros had the screw go through the handle into the micro...no need to take door apart, just screw it back in. Why would you need to take the door apart?
