SCC-343P Security camera cant get video out

I bought a samsung SCC-343P cctv camera, however i cannot get any sort of video out of it.

When i have applied 24v to it, the power light comes on and i have plugged the bnc video output into it however the screen is still black.

There is a little 4 pin socket on the back labeled "adj" which i wondered if was a RJ11E output (though it doesnt look the same) either way i havent got the manual with this camera and have no idea if i have to press certain buttons or something to switch between outputs?

can you assist at all?

I would check the iris on the camera, if it's all the way open, then it's probably not the fault of the camera. What are you using to view the image?

I have a sentient cctv dvr from Maplin I can view it on my phone at home which is fine I wanted to know if I can view camera footage when I'm not at home etc. at work

Yes you can definitely view your CCTV footage on your mobile phone at your work via internet. Sentient CCTV DVR basically is a night vision camera. You must know the IP of the camera and IP Video server. Connecting your phone to CCTV camera via the protocol you can view the CCTV footage's in your phone. Night vision cameras are used for surveillance purpose. I would prefer cctv camera with ir illuminator for good image quality in the night time that will clear footage quality in my phone.
Recently many new applications have also being launched by security cameras with a view to solve problem you mentioned.

I have a Sentient CCTV System and now all the screens on the monitor have lines going across them as if there is some sort of interference, do you know how to stop this ?

Look for Totally tight cable connections. A break in the grounding causes the interference, usually. It only takes a slight loose connection to have issues.

I bought 2 outdoor CCTV.camera RV537B with night vision. one of the unit has not functioning properly on night. i tested it by covering the photo cell that switch the LED lamp which is ok but it seems to...

I think I answer you question--when?? Take the good CCTV camera and hook it up to monitor. Then hook up the CCTV camera and turn it on. Point the working CCTV camera at the bad camera that is turn on. Now, look at the monitor which is working with your operational camera. Look at the bad camera while it on, and see how many IR LED's you can see on the bad CCTV, while it turn on. You should be able to the IR LED glowing red. If not, then there is a problem with bad CCTV IR LED's. Short wire, no power to the IR LED's. stewbison

Hello i just bought 8 of this cameras used but they do not come with the conector it has 8 wires but i do not know what pair is de power side to get them to work if you can help it would be good. Thanks

you should have 2 connections on the camera, one of them will look kind of like the bayonet end of a light bulb, this is the data connection. It is a bnc connector so you will need a cable to connect to that.

Is the 60' cable (MCB-60) considered coax cable?

No, coaxial cable for closed circuit tv systems are either of the RG59U or RG6 variety. The cable you are speaking of is a cable made specifically for Samsung products, which uses a RJ11 connector that is normally found on telephone jack cords. It would be best if you stayed with the MCB-60 cable for your system.

How many instrument and power cables in one cctv

Hi a simple CCTV one camera system is 1 pair of power wires (1 positive 1 negative) and 1 piece of coax cable with BNC connectors at both ends. (usually rg59 but RG6 is better)

Things to be aware of:

Cameras come in both 12v DC OR 24Vac configurations some are capable of both but most models available to consumers run on 12v most professionals choose 24v models.

simple adapters used to convert from regular coax screw type connectors to either an RCA connector or BNC connector are available at Radio shack. If you need more than 1 or 2 its cheaper to get them on ebay.

You can connect a BNC equipped camera to an input on your TV by using one of these adapters. *put an RCA connector on the end and plug it into one of the yellow video inputs on the TV.

No picture on my tv from cctv camera

it is neither clear what sort of output your cctv cameras produce, nor what sort of input your dvr accepts. but, for the most part, dvrs record digital tv signals, whereas cctv cameras output analogue signals. so, even though you may be able to plug a cctv camera "straight" into a tv via a scart connector, it is unlikely that any scart connectors on a dvr have the necessary circuitry to accept such signals.

I bought a CCTV system for a school but I have some electric problem that the image looks like it's flashing? what is the problem since Iam new to this. IT's like it has brightness

Line loss from the camera to the DVR or monitor and ground loops are the most common problems. If you only see black and white from a color camera, it typically means the cable from the camera to the DVR is too long and/or has high loss caused by a poor BNC connector.

Excessive brightness can mean the video signal from the camera is too strong. This can be caused by an impedance mismatch from using the wrong type of video coax (cabling).

Additionally, a camera power supply plugged into a different electrical circuit (not the same outlet as the DVR or montior) can cause ground loop problems that can affect the video quality.
