Question about LG LRE30451ST Electric Kitchen Range

1 Answer

Advise LG Customer Service of all the customers here with same problem

I called LG customer service and because they have no service bulletin about the problem, they imply I'm the only one. Another FixYa subsciber suggested we get together to report this. How can we bring this malfunctioning keypad/circuit board problem to their attention - that many of us have this problem?

I bought the white version of this range in May 07. After a few uses I noticed the heat exhaust from the oven blows up on the keypad making it hot to the touch and a yellowish discoloration on the white paint between the vent and the keypad that has stained it. The first time I used the self cleaning oven the keypad displayed an F-1 code (keypad short) and nothing works except the clock. I called LG and the rep couldnt have cared less; said LG will not repair or replace. After a few words LG finally agreed to repair this ONE time. Now I have waited a week for a service tech to come out and 2 more weeks waiting for the part to come in - making it 3 weeks without a stove.

I am horribly disappointed not only with the range but with the overall "I don't give a hoot" attitude from LG. I will never buy another LG product.

After this fix is done, hopefully sometime soon, I will be afraid to clean the oven again for fear the keypad will short again because LG already has informed me they will not fix it again.

This is an obvious design flaw and I believe the ranges should be recalled.

If anyone else is having this same experience I recommend reporting it to consumerreview.com and consumersearch.com, etc.

Perhaps if we all join together we can force to recall this unsafe appliance.

Good for you that LG at least gave you one replacement. I will go to the websites you suggested. Thank you.

Our LG LRE30755ST Electric stove (bought at Home Depot 1.5 years ago) developed some kind of circuit board problem just after the one year warranty ran out. The #4 button does not work, and the burners act up, not allowing adjustment to their temp settings... I am not motivated to even try to get sympathy from LG after reading many complaints about these issues. Is there a recall web site that can be helpful?

Life is not Good! I have the LRE30755SW - I purchased mine in Dec. 2007 and now just after the warranty is over I decided to self clean the oven. The key pad warped and is now shorted. Only the clock works. Now I can't cook dinner and I have to pay$$$$ for the repair!

We have had our electric LG kitchen range model # LRE30755SW/SB/ST for approx 18 months and last night got the 'F-1" error which indicates a shorted keypad. Our range is used but once a week. It should not have gone out, but because we have owned it over a year and are out of warrenty we are out of luck.

    We are very disspapointed.

Most big box retailers do not have any service, and once you buy the product don't tend to care much about you. Independent dealers are not wild about helping someone who overlooked them for the original sale. (gee, wonder why????) If you need help, call LG customer relations at 1-800-243-0000. LG is very poor about giving servicers realistic additional mileage to service their products, but it is the manufacturer's responsibility to get you service within warranty. If they have to offer additional compensation to a servicer to run the call, then thats what they might just have to do. (Next time you make a purchase of any product, check if the seller provides their own service before you buy.)

GE Profile JGSP32GEV3BB slide in range - regulator went bad #WB19K5020

"GE makes garbage" that's what a lot of independent servicers says about brands they can't become authorized to work on because GE for instance has factory service. What makes the repairman think the regulator is bad? It is highly unlikely to be the case.

They are generally mounted to the rear of the oven with screws. Not all ovens have them. Please post the complete model number from the range and I will try to help you find the problem.

Sounds like the wrong module got installed or is defective. Dangerous situation. Call or take it back to whoever installed it. If you did yourself, pull the control module and return it to the shop you bought it from for a new one or make sure you have the correct module by checking the part number on the module itself. Better yet call Viking directly.
