I have a 97 toyota corolla, my father had givin me his old radio, earlier today my car radio lit on fire almost torching my dash board, im a trained firefighter so i know how to put it out. unfortunatly im...

OK, first I recommend you purchase a wiring harness specific to the vehicle. The wiring harness is equiped with standardized wire colors to match aftermarket radios. Then the harness plug situates the wires in the correct pattern to match the vehicle. All you do then is plug it in. You will probably need a trim panel too. I recommend you check out www.crutchfield.com, they have the harnesses, dash kits, and instructions. Hope this helps.

I have a keenwood indash dvd player i want to hook my amp to it but it dont have rca jacks so how do i do it

If your indash radio does not have RCA outputs, you can do two things. You can purchase a line level converter and hook it to one of the rear speakers. This will allow you to tap into the speaker wire, then convert the signal to RCA. Then you plug your RCA cables in there. The other (my recommendation) is to purchase an "add an amp" wiring harness. This harness will install between your radio and vehicle harnesses. It will have RCA output and remote wire. Then you run those back to your amp and there you go. You can find these at the scosche or PAC websites. You can also try www.crutchfield.com

Trying to install and rewire the kenwood KDC-MP149 cd player into my 1997 lancer. having problems matching up the wire colours thanks

I recommend you purchase a wiring harness. This will make the install much easier. You can match up the wires of the radio and the harness with ease (since all aftermarket radios have standardized color coding for the wires). You vehicle wires will never match the radio, unless it's stock. You can purchase one at www.crutchfield.com Hope this helps.

Wiring problem with sony explode cd player and 07 dodge ram 1500 wiring is correct i think but it doesot turn on

First, did you use a wiring harness? If not, undo your install and replace the factory Harness in the vehicle. You can purchase a wiring harness for about $10 that you wire to your radio. This allows you to just "plug" the harness into the vehicles stock harness. If you have hardwired your radio you run the risk of frying your entire electrical system. Hope this helps.

I have a XOD1760BD double Din DVD player. I am in need of the wire harness that plugs into the radio itself. I have a new unit but no wire harness for it.

If this is a new unit and didn't come with the harness, I would contact the company or retailer you purchased it from. If you purchased it from an individual, you may be screwed. Companies rarely sell those specific parts due to the possibility that the unit is stolen. You will probably need a dealer to order the part if it is available. Hope this helps.

I need to install a kenwood cd player into my 2001 ford explorer step by step

goto the auto parts store and purchase a pair of stereo keys, fascia adaptor and wiring harness (you may need to get fascia and harness from a car audio store or circuit city.)
Then use the stereo keys to remove the factory stereo. Push them into the small holes on the front of the stereo push them slightly outwards and pull to release the stereo. Unplug all the connectors from back keeping track of where they fall.
Insert wiring harness into the stock wiring
attach fascia in regards to its packaged instructions.
Place cage from new stereo into the hole in the dash using the tabs on cage to secure it,
Attach stereo to other end of new harness along with aerial (may need adaptor for this also depending on the new head unit.)
Insert stereo into new cage and voila nice new stereo.

I have a 1994 dodge ram 1500 with the infinity premium sound in it, the previous head unit i had a was a clarion and it work excellent. I installed the avh-p5700dvd and now i only get sound out of the...

With the Infinity system you need to power up the factory amplifiers. This is done with the blue with a white stripe wire from the deck to the amp turn on lead from the factory harness. Not sure the color of the wire but that's most certainly your problem. If you have a factory to aftermarket wiring adapter it'll be the blue wire.
