Question about Canon PIXMA MP600 all-In-One InkJet Printer
I gave up on the mp600 and went and bought a new mp610 so I can use up my old cartridges on it. I tried the mp600 printhead in the new one too but it reports a different type. I consider it to be a board problem as it prints the dark cyan but not the light cyan from the same cartridge and no yellow at all. These printers are great but if they give problems and the problem is not obvious, replacement is the cheapest option. There is a lot of hobby type motors and other interesting things inside to make pulling the old one apart interesting too so all is not lost. Part of the replacement rationale was the new cartridge set that comes with the new one - $65 worth as part of the new printer cost of $178 so $113 of repairs would cover a new one. If anyone wants a low cost B&W multifunction (or limited colour) reply.
Thanks for all comments/suggestions.

I would say to buy your self a new printhead, it could well be blocked,
as the worst case it could need printhead and logic board, but is hard to say with out being at the machine.
I would order a new printhead and see if that cures the fault.
