Question about Apple InFocus X1 Multimedia Projector

Infocus X1 lighting problem

My X1 has worked very well until I finally had it mounted (upside down) from a ceiling mount. Since then the bulb inconsistently turns on. I tried replacing the bulb and that has not solved the problem.

At times, I have been able to put some pressure (pushing up) on the projector and been able to get it to light up.

Seems like I have a short somewhere due to my ability to put pressure or squeeze the projector and that enables the projector to stike up the bulb.

Seen any problems like this after an X1 has been placed on a ceiling mount?

Hello,
Well there are only a couple of things that could cause this problem. However considering this all started when it was mounted consider the possibility you may have used screws that are too long and are is/are subsequently shorting something out.

Cheers

In the main menu, go to Settings, select System, and uncheck Ceiling (that setting is to allow it to be mounted upside down from a ceiling mount).

Image is upside down

Hit the menu/select button to bring up the menu either on the projector or on the projector remote then go down until advanced is highlighted then press the menu/select button then move down until Ceiling Project is highlighted and hit the menu/select button again to get the image right side up. If you have the manual for the projector this information can be found on page 34.

Need to invert the picture--ceiling mounted

The SYSTEM menu provides options for ceiling mount and rear projection. From the main menu, select SYSTEM, move the cursor down to CEILING and then click the SELECT button. That should put a check mark on that option. Then go to PREVIOUS and finally EXIT the menu,
