Question about Xante Ilumina Digital Color Press Printer
We have had the Illumina for two months now and experience a great deal fo problems. And since we are a printing company, we NEED the color press to function at optimum.
IT began with the color calibration. Did the whole troubleshooting steps together with the Xante tech support, including the Swatch thing. Never really worked. Xante claims t be working on the issue (for 5 weeks now) they hardly ever call back and when we call back, the person is conveniently at lunch.
Then there was an issue with the heavy card stock. And it is not even the really heavy duty stock, just 265 GSM. Worked fine at first (mind you with inferior colors) though after a month, stock started to jam in the printer and now it smudges the 265gsm glossy paper ( which it does not do with the regular card stock). Again; on the phone with Xante tech support, tried numerous different paper type settings and that did NOT work. Honestly, if you set it to the range of the stock weight it messes up, and when you set it to heavy gloss it messes up even worse.
We also experience the same issues as other posters here, Rapidly depleting toner, fatal errors, etc etc. It never ends!
Now we have a different person at the tech support. We demanded to speak to someone else because we were quite frustrated about the fact that Xante did not even send people to location unless there was a part that needed to be replaced. Finally, he cloaims he will work on the issue with us and if that does not work Xante will finally send someone over so as to make sure that everything functions accordingly.
Terribly sorry people. I am sure that the Illumina is a wonderful machine when it actually is up to full capacity, though that is very difficult to achieve by yourself and is made even worse with the 'wonderful' Xante tech support...
Did you ever get your problem resolved. Having same problem here.

I have been running this machine for 2 years.
The only way I can run is too
1 printer media to plan - on Ilumina display panel
2 media weight to auto on Ilumina display panel -
3 When printing in printer dialog be sure set these options -
-printer features-insert option - set media type to Printer Setting
I have tried changing the media types as well and will not work for me- but setting to auto works. http://www.inkcoverage.com
