Try using another cord(either buy a new one or borrow someones) to connect your psp to your pc and also try plugging in something else to the computer with the same hookups to make sure its not your computer ports. if niether of those suggestions work, you might have a problem with the ports on your psp being shot, which is a problem with alot of electronics. also make sure that the ports arent plugged or gummed up with anything and look if there is any wear on the contacts of the wire and the ports.

Got lead to connect psp to pc to download music to psp thought would work automaticly but i go usb mode on psp but cant link them help please

Hi deanocar,

Based onyour concern, I suggest trying the following steps: 1. Before you plug it in make sure the PSPis in USB connect mode. --> Alsomake sure the Memory Stick PRO Duo has been formatted for PSP. If it's not thisis how you do it: On themain menu, scroll all the way left to the "Settings" menu. Thenselect "System Settings." Then scroll to "Format MemoryStick" and press X. 2. Connect the PSP to your PC with a USBcable. 3.Press the "home" button on the PSP --> atthe lower left of the screen you can see the home button. 4. Use the left-right directional buttons tofind "Settings", then the up-down buttons to find "USBConnection" on the PSP. 5. Press the "X" button, your PSPshould display "USB Connection". 6. Please wait until your computer tells youthat a new USB device has been connected, then show you a new generic harddrive, usually E: or F: 7. Click on the drive letter thatcorresponds to the PSP unit. Hope ithelps, Thank youfor using FixYa.

Hi i cant figure out how to put music on my psp

1. Connect your PSP with your PC using the USB cable.

2. Use your PSP interface and hit HOME button, and then go into "Settings". Here you will have to use the directional button to find "USB Connection"

3. Once the connection is made, you will need to check your PCs available drives. You can do this by going into "My Computer". Your PC should detect your PSP as and additional drive. It is not much different from using portable drive or thumb drives actually.

4. Click on your assigned PSP drive.

5. Create a new folder call "music" on your PSP drive

6. Select your MP3 music from your PC and drag it into your "music" folder on your PSP. Note that all this is done in your PC interface.

7. When all the desired MP3 are transferred, get out of the USB connection mode by pressing "O" on your PSP.

8. Find the music area in your PSP, and select your memory stick. Search for your "music" folder and you are good to go.

How to enable wma playback on psp using a pc???

You cant unless yo have a homebrew (hacked) psp, but you can if you find a Wi-Fi access point where you can connect. After you find one go to the PSP menu and go to "System Settings"than "Enable WMA Playback". It should connect to the access point and enable it for you.

Hope this helps! :)

Cant transfer files

You might have virus protection installed on your PC, and it'll block your memory stick of psp when your MS infected by virus/trojan.. You may access your ms using card-reader or consider to re-format your MS within PSP to refresh partition..

PSP

as long as you have connected the usb lead and tried in different ports, make sure you are selecting USB Connection in the settings menu on the psp, it should then connect, but some older pc's may not have enough voltage sent to the usb ports to read the psp, if this is so you will need to buy a powered usb hub.
