There are two ways to look at it. Your disc may be dirty or the lens in your disc drive port is dirty. Try cleaning your disc first then the lens of your drive port. You may use 1% alcohol on cotton buds to clean the lens. Also, some compact discs have very thin coating to drive down the price so sometimes a few uses would render them useless. Buy a quality CD if you may if you need to save important data.
