Hello. After running my dishwasher through a "regular, hot dry" cycle, I woke this morning to find a problem. It looks (just guessing) like the washer cycled through everything as the dishes look great. Problem is that now there is a few inches of water left in the tub that didn't drain and the "control panel" does not function. There are no lights at all - even after pushing every button. I should also mention that yesterday, I replaced the dispenser unit. Perhaps I screwed something up while doing that??? The machine appeared to be working just fine but then I discovered these problems this morning. Are there some basic things I can check before I call out a repairman? I would rather not have this expense..... Thanks in advance! PS - does it matter which way the wires are connected to the door switch? I may have reversed them but I'm not sure....

gagaweaver, couple of things you want to check here. Check the upper spray arm for any clogged holes or cracks along the edges. Position it in the 12:00 position and run the dishwasher for a little, open the door and verify that it has rotated. Make sure the water entering the dishwasher is min. 120 degrees, use a thermometer. Makes sure that there is no large pans or dishes blocking the upper spray arm from spraying onto the inner door. If all that checks out. You will have to remove the lower spray arm, filter cover and chopper cover to make sure the chopper screen is not coated or plugged up. If it is, it will prevent a good flow of water to the upper spray arm. Catriver..post back.

I had the same thing recently. Everything appeared fine mechanically, but no water would spray. I inspected the bottom arm as closely as possible and actually found a half melted clear plastic straw inside of it. 30 minutes, tweezers and a small pick eventually got it out and all is fine.

Hi Gordon136,
I believe your Drain Pump is causing the problem, it may have a leak on it, I'd suggest removing the Drain Pump from the lower sump - Accessable from the bottom of the machine. Another component to check is the Circulation Pump - Look for water marks on both the Drain pump and Circulation pump.
If any of the 2 are down to earth then the power would trip, or in your case the fuse would pop.
I doubt it is anything to do with the control Panel, the reason why I am saying this is that your water is still in the machine, your dishwasher will activate the pump to drain it, but it would then send power through to it. Then cause a dead short and POP goes the fuse.
Hope I have described this in a way you can understand.
Please let me know?
Kind Regards
