Many of these DLP sets the picture gets darker right before the lamp fails.

Average life of the lamp is 2,000 hours----about 1 to 2 years of normal use.

If the lamp has not been replaced for a long time it is first suspect in this case.

How do I adjust the dark scions so they show up better?

Hi Tommy,
Please try this. Go to picture menu and reduce the contrast a bit and increase the brightness a little. Your kind of problem generally occurs when you increase the contrast to full. Try a few combinations of contrast and brightness and you will be able to see all the "sciences and scions" in full details.
Good Luck.

MY TV PICTURE HAS GONE A LITTLE DARKER AND ADJUSTING BRIGHT, CONTRAST, COLOR,ETC. DOES NOT HELP

How long u have this RCA analoge tv?Around 10 years or more and used it like about 5 or 6 hrs everydays?Yes,than ur tv it is losing CRT tube radiation cohetion. As times go bye years in years out the tv CRT-(tv tube) radiation will slowly dying out,Tv actual pictures will lost some of it luster and it brightnesses to the tv auctual pictures.Brightnesses of CRT tube will get darker and darker until the tv actual pictures barely it is watchable anymore.Contrast,Brightness and Colors adjusting more will help some. But u have to take this tv aparts and take a Flat scerw driver turn up a little bit more of the tv HV-(high voltage) SCREEN button on the FBT-(flyback transformer) to make any big differences of the CRT tube brightnesses. The FBT-(flyback tranformer) is the big block of plastic with a red wire with a black cap hook up to the tv CRT-(tv tube). This adjustment on of the FBT,HV-SCREEN button will help the tv CRT-(tv tube) last another year or two.

Lost my user's guide need to change make copies darker

May I know the model # of your machine?
Some of brother machine have the copy options where you can change the brightness, contrast and color of the document that you are copying.
For example for MFC-240:
You can change the brightness contrast by pressing copy mode. Then load the document in the feeder, press copy option so that it will show the option to change the brightness, contrast and color. Just press the arrow key to select the brightness then hit ok/menu. then press arrow key to have it lighter/darker..
Hope this helps.

I have a Westinghouse 47 inch flatscreen LCD TV. The top two inches of the screen are darker than everything else. The picture still shows up in that area, its just darker. I have tried to adjust the...

-Have you try frame Shape...? If not then try frame Shape.

What it is...? It's a shape like rectangle, square and taller area or wider picture.
On the remote control should have a button label " P. Size"
-Try this button . it will change the shape of the picture. If it's still not help then a new TV.

Good luck

No contrast

first turn your color all way off or down.try turning your contrast way down as far as it will go you should see a darker picture. now bring up the brightness to a point half way. bring the contrast up to see grays and whites and blacks...adjust brightness more if need be. now you should see a nice black and white picture. no bring your color up last ...not saturate but to your liking. if you stilll got problems i bet your video out transistor is shorted....meaning shop work.

Acer AL11511

To even things out you need to use the controls on the monitor to lower the brightrnes. to acceptable levels. When playing a DVD there are seperate controls in the software and your graphics driver to adjust the Video Overly settings. Look for settings called gamma and brightness in the video overlay settings in the windows display properties panel. This should help even things out some. Deal is to crank down the brightness on the monitor and crank it up in the video settings in windows. It will make the DVD's brighter and rest of the time the regular screen darker.
