Hi,
I'm having a sleep problem on my computer. It was working just fine with the
screensaver set at 5min and sleep mode set at 10min. The problem began when
I had to reset my computer using the reset button, which powers it down and
turns it, back on, and now I can't get it fixed. I've tried every
combination under the sun, but no dice. Any suggestions?
Please write back
Sincerely,
Cnon

Set your screen saver to "None." Screen savers are useless and can actually
cause damage to your monitor according to PCWorld. Why use a screen saver
when your computer is going on standby anyway? Also go into "Power
Management" and reset your sleep mode to another setting (5 minutes or 15
minutes.) I am no expert but it worked for me.

these *features* are doing nothing for you. They are for laptops. The
monitor doesn't need a screensaver (it's only for your entertainment).
Spinning down your hard drive is unneeded and may cause you problems. I find
turning off my monitor manually to be easy.
Again, power management *bad

incompatible. I am surprised it worked for you prior to this. In fact, sleep
mode is for laptops and screensavers are unneeded. I have my power
management set to "Always On" and three "nevers". You could probably get
away with putting your monitor on standby.
You didn't say exactly what's not working for you, but you can check your
settings under Power management in Control Panel or right-click
Desktop/Properties/Screensaver.
