Question about Vacuums
My oreck carpet cleaner is not dispensing water. i replaced the water pump and it is still not sucking water from the main jug of water. it trickles out but nothing serious.
If I may! In most cases the heater is clogged. It might be clogged with soap that has harden over time. You need to take the handle apart. You will see a metal box(thats the heater) besides the wires there are two tubes connected to the heater. remove the tubes but label or watch which tube goes where. now turn the heater upside down. there are 6 screws on the side and 1 in the middle. remove them carefully. the 6 on the side have a small gaskets under them..you don't want to lose them. the 1 in the middle has no gasket, now the bottom plate of the heater can be taken off (there is a gasket with that plate ...be careful . you will now see the long channels inside the heater and need to clean it. the holes where the tubes where connected have to be clean also but carefully. the metal is soft.so it bends. now put it all back. hope this helps. if you want to keep this from happening.the best way is to run clear water after you are done.this will remove any soap in the machine which will harden after the machine drys out. hope I helped .
and to mr. reddevil6 I am learning lots from you. Thanks

no solution, hoover is by far the most rediculous machinery... it says its as easy as filling it up and using it as a vacuum.. but it doesnt show how the hell you fill it up, there are two possible places where water and solution obviously enters and leaves... yet niether of them open up for fluids to be put in
and of course the instructions dont tell you how to fill it up
no wonder it has only a 30 day money back "guarentee"
because it takes 30 days for the buyer to realize that it doesnt work
so you can spend 300 on this faulty product.. or spend 300 on something that wont infieriate you

You put hot tap water (never boil water) into the clear bag through an opened hole in the canister. The dirty water will be correct outside of the bag. You remove the dirty water by open the valve at the bottom of the canister.

SOURCE: not sucking up water
Hi. I had the same problem. After looking at the manual I went back and made sure the
canister was making a proper seal. That fixed the problem. Make sure when you put the
top back on the canister (that holds the dirty water), that you place the two front hinges in
place first and then snap the center clap on the back of the top. This will give you a proper
seal for suction. (My two front hinges weren't fitting correctly.)

The water or soap line might be clogged, or something is broken. If it is just the upright part and not the handle, then its a solenoid, if its both then either the pump motor or the pump is not working.
Here is a list of parts.
Hope this helps.
