Question about JVC KD-PDR30 CD Player

Open Question

JVC KD-PDR30 no response

I sent my car in for repairs and removed the face plate or whatever its called from my JVC KD-PDR30 so it wouldn;t get anything on when I put it back on 2 weeks later it turns on but the only thing the screen says is 621 I tryed to turn it off but it wouldn't respond so I took off the face plate again and put it back on. Now it just is a blank screen with all the lights and everything on. It won't respond to any buttons and will not turn off unless my car is turned off. Also when I turn my car on it automaticly turns on in this state. My only guess is that it won't register that the face plate is on or it's some how locked, either way I don't know how to fix it help please. Thank you

all radios like your has two power inlets one is battery and the other is Acc or Ing. The battery line keeps power in the radio after you turn off your car both lines must work for the radio to turn on it sounds like a resister burn out thats why your face plate was warm.

hi sounds like theunit is faulty, you will need to have the unit repaired, or have the amp switched via the ignition this would be the cheapest option.

Thanks for the description of your problem. At the face of it , it looks like the problem is only the face plate. Coz the unit lights up fine and there are no blown fuses. I recommend replacing the face plate first and checking. If the that not working , we have to open the unit and check internal connections.
Also do check all your relay cables, just to make sure you are getting proper current to the unit.

The Touch will not work with the KDPDR30. I spoke with JVC and their models that will operate the Touch are KDPDR40, KDAPD49, KDPDR45, KDPDR41 and KDG47 the last two have a cable required.

You should have a look at the owners manual, where the code almost sure is... Or maybe a card from the radio.
