My pioneer sw-8 subwoofer will not power on

If your Pioneer SW-8 subwoofer is not powering on, there are a few things you can try to troubleshoot the issue:
  1. Check the power cord: Make sure that the power cord is securely plugged into both the subwoofer and a working electrical outlet. If the power cord is loose, try unplugging it and plugging it back in.
  2. Check the power switch: Make sure that the power switch on the back of the subwoofer is turned on.
  3. Check the circuit breaker: The subwoofer may have a circuit breaker that has tripped. Check the circuit breaker on the back of the subwoofer to see if it has tripped. If it has, reset it by pushing the button back in.
  4. Check the fuse: The subwoofer may have a blown fuse. Check the fuse on the back of the subwoofer to see if it has blown. If it has, replace it with a fuse of the same rating.
  5. Check the auto power function: The subwoofer may have an auto power function that turns it off after a certain amount of time if there is no audio signal. Make sure that the audio source is playing and sending a signal to the subwoofer.
If none of these steps resolve the issue, there may be a problem with the amplifier or power supply in the subwoofer.

HDMI won't work and says no signal. Why?

There are lots of possibilities. You could have a bad cable, a bad input port on the TV, or on the source device. You could have a problem with the display settings (out of range). If the source is a laptop computer, the HDMI port may be disabled for power savings. In that case, you need to check the setting.

For some desktop computers, you can have motherboard HDMI port(s) and an add-on video graphics adapter. Only one is active at a time. Confirm that the HDMI cable is on the port of the active source. (You may need to access the BIOS or UEFI for the system.) Add-on VGA cards often need more power. Make sure that the power supply cables are fully seated in the power connections. Check that the correct type(s) of power cable is connected. There are 6, 8 and 12 pin PCIe power connections now. Some video cards may need two power connections. Since the 8 pin cables are often designed to leave one pair of pins loose for use in a 6 pin connector, it's possible for them to not get seated in the 8 pin connector.

Please add a comment with the source and TV for more support. I hope this helps.

New GA-990AX-UD3 motherboard will not boot

You really should take that Power Supply, and use it on grandma's computer.

The 8-pin EPS +12 Volt power cable was brought out, to provide more power To the motherboard AND processor.

http://www.playtool.com/pages/psuconnectors/connectors.html#eps8

The 4-pin ATX +12 Volt power cable has TWO yellow wires.
Yellow wires are 12 Volt wires. (And two Black ground wires)

http://www.playtool.com/pages/psuconnectors/connectors.html#atx12v4

The 8-pin EPS +12 Volt power cable has FOUR 12 Volt wires.

In the motherboard manual, does it say, "Yes Tom. Go ahead and use a 4-pin ATX +12 Volt power cable. We don't care. We just use an 8-pin EPS for fun."

[ This is an 8-pin PCI Express power cable. Completely different,

http://www.playtool.com/pages/psuconnectors/connectors.html#pciexpress8 ]

The motherboard probably uses 150 Watts by itself.
No Ram Memory, no CPU, no fans, etc.

The CPU could use up to 125 Watts of power. Just depends on what AMD, socket AM3, processor you are using.

Now to graphics card's power;
The most Wattage a PCI-Express x16 slot can deliver is 75 Watts.

The most power a 6-pin PCI Express power cable can deliver is 75 Watts.
8-pin EPS +12 Volt power cable? 150 Watts.

When buying a Power Supply you should calculate all components needing power,

http://extreme.outervision.com/psucalculatorlite.jsp

,then buy a Power Supply that has AT LEAST 10 percent more power than needed. Easier on the Power Supply.
Also a computer will NOT use more power than it needs.

10,000 Watt power supply, (Exaggeration ), and the computer only needs about 100 Watts for surfing the internet?

Computer ONLY uses 100 Watts.

Due to the price, the above, and the availability, you should use a 500 Watt power supply at least.

http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=899123&CatId=1079

http://www.amazon.com/StarTech-6in-Pin-Power-Adapter/dp/B002O21XHQ

Or use it on yours if it has enough Wattage.

Back in the day, the motherboard didn't need to supply that much power to components on it.
More powerful Processors, Ram Memory, and graphics cards, brought the power needed, up.

A 4-pin ATX +12 Volt power cable was added for the motherboard. Then 6-pin PCI Express power cable for graphics cards. Then the 8-pin PCI Express power cable for graphics cards. Lastly the 8-pin EPS +12 Volt power cable.

(Better make sure the Power Supply you have is good, if you wish to use the above power adapter cable. Nothing like having a Power Supply with a weak voltage power rail, and a new build, to pull your hair out on )

http://www.gigabyte.com/products/product-page.aspx?pid=3894#ov

Out of the motherboard manual Page 23,

"With the use of the power connector, the power supply can supply enough stable power to all the components on the motherboard. Before connecting the power connector, first make sure the power supply is turned off and all devices are properly installed. The power connector possesses a foolproof design.

Connect the power supply cable to the power connector in the correct orientation. The 12V power connector mainly supplies power to the CPU. If the 12V power connector is not connected, the computer will not start.

To meet expansion requirements, it is recommended that a power supply that can withstand high power consumption be used (500W or greater). If a power supply is used that does not provide the required power, the result can lead to an unstable or unbootable system."

Dell dimension e510 flashing amber light USB front panel

If you are comfortable around computers, you could try the following to test the power supply. Unplug the cord from the power supply, hold the power button in for about 15/20 seconds, open the case, unplug the 24-pin power connector from the motherboard and jump the Green wire to one of the Black wires, reconnect the power cord and power the system on and if power supply fan and hard drive run, then the PSU should be good. Note: Do not remove any wires from the plug, use a small piece of wire or a paper clip as a jumper. Power supply checks out and the system still does not work, again remove the power cord, hold power button in for several seconds to discharge the residue power, reconnect the 24-pin connector to the motherboard. Remove all the PCI cards, the video card [if applicable], memory, all peripherals, disconnect the data and power cables to all the drives, check that the front panel cable is connected to motherboard, with nothing else connected to the system, reconnect the power cable and power the system on. If you do not get any beep codes or diagnostic lights on the front panel, then it would appear that motherboard has died.

I have a Bose lifestyle 25 from 1997 and I need a receiver power cord and a complete harness between the subwoofer and tha acustimass boxes. Do you know where I can find it ? Thank's

There's nothing special about the original power cord, so I'd go to Radio Shack or any electrical supply store and get it for $8.

http://www.radioshack.com/product/index.jsp?productId=3875429

Or you may have an unused one from other device lying around the house.

eBay has several of the unique connections you want.

Search "Bose lifestyle 25 cable".

No power to subwoofer

The subwoofer is designed to be "on" at all times. It will detect signal from the cable and should start by itself. So yes, the pin cable must be connected.
