Prints red and yellow horizontal baras instead of color image. All cartriges have ink. Ink supply does not appear to be problem.

  • askwerski Oct 13, 2008

images appear but are broken up woth the 1/4 in red and yellow horizontal bars. Looks like you are looking into a room with venetian blinds or a perpermintd stick.

  • askwerski Oct 13, 2008

New problem. I I get the message "Put in cartrige" on printer. Messageon computer screen says , "Install print head". Now nothing works.

  • askwerski Oct 13, 2008

First how do I remove the cartrige head and even greater problem. Now the printer has shutd itself off and will not go back on. I cannot turn the printer on. Have checked all plugs wich are secure.

  • askwerski Oct 13, 2008

Before I can do anything I have to get the printer to turn on. Is it possible that I "blew" a fuse or tripped a circit breaker. Until I get the printer up , othing can be done. ANy tips or hints...or is Mr. Pixma gone.

Hello,

did you verify the cable connecting from the printer head to the printer circuit board? if not then you have to verify it for checking. actually like that problem is due to error in the circuit board and need general cleaning in all parts of it. to eliminate mold in the circuit, accumulated dirts and other annoyance to your printer.

all parts are plug in however it needs semi technical person.

This is most likely because of using generic or refilled cartridges. Most printers these days have a sensor to detect refilled / non-original cartridges, which can cause printer problems in the long run. This is to encourage consumers to buy only original inks.

As for the printer not turning on, try a different wall socket first. If possible, try to change the power cable as well. You could also try a hard reset - Unplug printer from wall socket and PC, wait about a minute and try again.

Should none of these steps work, then I'm afraid you will have to take the printer in for servicing. Although if you ask me, I recommend going in for a brand new printer, as service charges will be nearly as much (if not more) than the price of a new printer...

Cheers!

Problem got worse

disconnect the printer from the computer and power source
look for another power outlet and try powering on the printer, if that doesn't work, you got to accept it needs servicing.

The printer shuts itself off because is defective. And it was defective even before you performed the ordinary maintainance operations suggested.

The printer has a faulty printhead, that was the reason for the color bands.

It is also apossible a fault with the main control board.

Repair service should be performed by a technician.

If you blew a fuse or tripped a circuit breaker, the printer would not even start. If you blew a capacitor, or an IC on main circut board, yes, that can cause the problem.

The only way to test this is going through a several hours testing job done by a technician on the main board, usually to find out that the print head is gone and must be replaced.

No professional repairer is doing that kind of job on an inkjet printer, it is not worth nowadays.

then unplug the power cord of your printer from main power out let.
wait for 5 minutes.
then plug the printer wire in the power outlet.

Hi, Sould like problem with catridge. Check if none of the colors in the catridge are empty.

I believe there should be a software which comes with printer to tell you about the ink levels in the catridge.

  • Karthik P Oct 13, 2008

    Ok.
Try doing the printer head clean using the software.
May be some dry inks are stuck on the head.

Soak just the cartriage print head in warm water for a few minutes, this may cure the problem if it is ink flow related as it sounds it might be.

MY CANNON PRINTER IP3600 IS PRINTING RED IMAGES IN PINK

go to Edit > Color Settings, how is Photoshop Elements currently set? The first thing I would do is try setting it to "No color management" and see if you get better results. If this works for you, you're in luck, because color management gets tricky. In settings "No color management" does not produce acceptable results, you will have to start reading up on color management and color calibrating your devices, particularly your printer. You might want to also read Photoshop Elements Help topic "To print using color management."Most graphics software has setting for color management, but personally, I have always gotten the best results by simply turning color management off. Color management is primarily intended for people in a pre-press environment. Not everyone needs it. If you're not doing professional printing, first try working without color management before you assume you need it.

Pixma ip4000 prints blue instead of green

The fault could be -
The yellow cartridge is empty
or
The yellow ink nozzles are blocked
Because green is made up with blue and yellow colors.

This Canon MP530 will print a nozzle check with no problems. It will color copy with no problem. No ink cartridge lights are on. It will not print a report or copy in black. What's wrong?

On your nozzle check, do you see the grid at the top (indicated by red arrow in picture below)? If you don't see this, your pigment black nozzles aren't working. The black bar at the bottom is from the dye black nozzles (small black tank). You may have either plugged nozzles or a bad print head.

Printer prints colours in different colours

Either you are out of red ink or the print head is getting plugged. Most printers substitute the nearest available color when a color runs out or the head is plugged. As some shades of red are made with yellow mixed, it therefore prints only in yellow if red is unavailable.
