Hello,

I suggest call ASKO on 1300 00 2756 and ask for the service dept. It could be something very minor like a blockage in the drain pump.

But it better to have someone look at this.

Make sure the programme selector switch is at an end of wash position as these door locks are interlocked to prevent accidental opening during operation. There is also a 2-3 minute time delay after the was finishes so disconnect for say 5 minutes and try again.

If it still doesn't open you will need to get access to the mechanism dependent on what type of relrase mechanism you have;

if it is a push button release with a cable to the lock sometimes you can remove the top panel of the machine and pull on the cable or linkage to open.

If it is a lever type release mechanism this is more difficult to open but you can sometimes reach and release it by the same method.

Always disconnect the machine from the electricity supply before working on it.

My asko w6222 shows F3 and stops. What is an F3 - some kind of error?

Drainage error
If F3 is flashing on the display, there is a
drainage problem. Check:
• that no objects are stuck in the drainage
hose outlet.
• that the drain pump is not blocked by foreign
objects. Clean the pump (see the
"Care and cleaning" chapter).
• that there are no kinks in the drainage
hose.
After taking the necessary action, run the
Drain program or press the Door Opening
button (key symbol) to empty the machine. If
the problem persists, contact the Customer
Care Center at
1-800-898-1879

During the washing circle the machine stops and F3 appears in the time window and machine cant restart

If F3 is flashing, then you are having a problem with drainage.
Check that there is no object stuck in the drain hose outlet. Check that the pump is not blocked by foreign objects and clean the pump. Check that there are no kinks in the drain hose.
After making these corrections, run the drain program or press the key button (door open) to empty the machine.

W6342 displays F3 on the front panel, what do I do?

F3 is a drain problem, check that the drain hose on the back is not kinked, if not then you may have a restriction in the drain pump. Follow these instructions:

The washing machine has a trap, where
coins, hairpins and the like can get caught.
To clean the filter and drainage pump:
1. Make sure the machine is empty of water
and that it is switched off or better still unplugged,

2: Open the hatch on lower front of machine for the drainage pump,

3: Drain out the water, into a bowl, for
example, by unhooking the drainage hose
from the pin inside the hatch. You may have to remove plug in the end of hose, be careful, as water should flow real good from hose, if water does not flow from hose and you see water inside of tub area with door closed then stop here and call a tech for repair, if water flows then allow water to fully drain out, then

4: Unscrew the cover anti-clockwise and
remove. You should then be able to see what is inside trap. More than likely you washed a rug and it came apart and blocked drain pump.

5: re-install in the reverse order and then try machine. In some cases you have to do this two or three times in a row to get it all out.

My Asko 6461 washing machine - F3 code

F3 problem, I had the issue on model W6461, however, judging by the amount of F3 issues posted this could work on other ASKO models If the coin trap in the drain is clear of debris, try this. Stages as follows:
1) Open drain pump door (bottom left of machine).
2) Remove black pipe and drain residual water.
3) Unscrew coin trap and remove, use a container to hold the water.
4) Leave the container underneath and make sure you have some towels ready (I didn't at the time)
5) Where the washing machine drain hose connects to the outlet in the wall or U bend connector remove this and expose the end.
6) Blow into the drain hose as hard as possible......hopefully the blockage will clear back through the coin trap.
7) Pour some water into the open end and blow this back through the drain as well.

Result:
A large lump of sludge, three of my 5 year olds small counter coins and about a litre of water (all over the floor, don't forget the towels!)

Just ran the machine now and fault cleared.

Good luck

Jurgo

Asko 10505 - wash finished, door won't open

it is most likely your machine may have a draining problem. if it cant drain the water out the door wont open. if you open the small door at the front bottom of the machine you will find the little black drain hose. unplug the hose off the door and drain machine. when the machine is empty try powering on and opening the door. if still no luck you will see (in the same location) a red pull ring. undo the screw holding the ring in position and gently pull until the door releases. it would be worth undoing the button trap lid to access the pump and check for any blockages (most common coins **** pins etc) let me know how you get on.
