I am trying to piece together your vague question....

A monitor driver is not needed unless you are a professional publisher.

I think you are talking about a video driver, if this has become damaged then you will get incorrect/no picture.

Please state:
computer make and model
operating system

This will allow me to help you further

I have a dell vostro 230 slim and I can not get a picture from the on board video what can I do. And if I get a pci-e low profile video card will I half to change the bios for it to see it?

If you are sure the graphics adapter is gone, you have check ALL cables, connections, try another monitor/ cable, drivers: A Graphics card is a option, make sure to look at the min. requirements for the graphic card, the power specs are important. I would not change the BIOS if Dell does not require it.

My monitor screen is black. The green light is on but black screen

The green light usually indicates that the monitor is getting a signal.
The lack of a picture is an indication that the monitor itself is having a problem. I would test the signal with another monitor if you can get one.
I suspect that the monitor backlight has gone bad (if so, you can see the screen very faintly if you shine a light on it).
Or, the screen circuitry has gone bad.

My cpu has power but i cant see anything on my monitor

Check that the Monitor power cable is firmly connected to the mains and the back of the monitor. Do u have the Power light on in front of the monitor?
Check the Signal cable running from the Computer to the Monitor. Is it firmly fixed at both ends?
If still no joy, plug a known working monitor to your computer. If u get a display, then your monitor might have gone bad or it might have been set to the lowest brightness (check the setting knob).
If swap monitor does not also work, then your Display (VGA) card is suspect, faulty. You may want to replace your VGA card.

I am having issues with my monitor. My computer monitor on my desktop has gone almost completely black. I can make out a faint outline of the setting when they are brought up that allows me to vaguely read...

i think the picture tube of your monitor has some problem. go to a nearby vendor and replace it and also first make sure your adjustments of color and brightness are fine.

No display c700 compaq

perhaps the resolution is set to a value that the monitor cant display (try other monitors) or if using windows tap F8 at start up and start in SAFE MODE this will start the display driver in minimal resolution and if alls ok you should see a picture

Dell flat panel monitor blinks no picture

Do you Mean the power Light blinks? It seems that the monitor has gone on Standby mode due to no connection (Or so it thinks) It is very Possible that the Driver to your video card has been deleted or you may need a new one.

I cant install my philips lcd monitor as the computer wont read the disk.Is it possible to do it online somehow?

here is phillip support page, enter your model number of your monitor and look for the drivers section. you should be able to view the monitor even without the exact driver as windows loads it's generic driver . if you are getting no picture at all at startup , check all your cables and your video card, start the computer in safe mode , go into the controll panel- system-hardware-device manager and make sure there are no yellow exclamation points next to devices, these will cause conflicts with you trying to load new drivers.
Post your findings here and we'll move on to another step.

Monitor on laptop rolling screen syatem check says monitor is fine

Hi gooby,

Video card - reseat card and boot to see if fixed or has gone bad. If your video card is integrated, then the system board needs replacing.

Monitor screen - need to replace.

One thing you can try is to re-install the video drivers. If this does not work, then the only thing that can be done is replacing the parts formentioned.
