I'm not sure exactly what your supply looks like, but if you go to google images and type in "500 watt small form factor power supply"
you will see quite a few options. you can click on the correct image to see a ling to the web site.

I have an Acer Aspire M1641 and I want to install a AMD Radeon HD6670. Are they compatible?

Yes they are compatible, but you would need to upgrade your power supply first. You do have the slots needed to add a Radeon HD6670, but your 250W power supply can't handle the card. You would need a good quality 500W power supply minimum. Personally I would recommend a good quality 600W-700W power supply so you have a little breathing room for future upgrades or additions.

All PSus (power supply units) with the correct pins (most of them) should work; take a look on a tech website, like Fry's, for a PSU thats 500w. That should be more than enough; its always better to have more power than is necessary.

Regarding 250W SMPS

250 watt is low under any circumstances, I'd upgrade atleast to a 450 or higher, around 650watt to be extra safe.

I have an ThinkCentre M51 8143-14U and i wish to upgrade to a better power supply for a graphics card. But i don't which to buy because of different dimensions sizes and cords. im after anything over 500W.

There are only two different sizes of power supply commonly used that I know of and all power connections are the same as well.
I would suggest a reputable power supply that has specs for each "rail" in amperes not just 500w as there are many pwr supplies that do not "cut the mustard". You can research these in www.tomshardware.co.uk

How to use ATX-250-12z SMPS with 24 pin

Chances are that 250w power supply is not going to power a motherboard with a 24 pin connector, but you can try.
You will need to purchase a 20 to 24 pin adapter cable.

Good that you are careful about the upgrade.
However you can upgrade your powersupply with a higher wattage rating without any problem. Increased wattage power supply does not fry or harm your system. The only thing that you should be careful before you buy the new power supply is its compatibility with the existing cabinet / case that you have.

Thank you for using Fixya.com

Power supply upgrade

that is a standard ATX power supply, so 95% of the aftermarket power supplies will work. Id suggest going to newegg.com and ordering one, very cheap there.

Want to upgrade power supply to be compatible with my computer

This is a common misconception about pwr supplies. What is important are the connectors (type and number). The simplest way is to remove the power supply and match the mother board connectors(the 2 different ones) and the number of pin connectors you need for the drives. I could not find a picture of the mother board to tell you which ones will fit but if you have a used computer dealer in your area he can. The physical match up is what is important as the pin outs are tech standard. Hope this helps.
