Question about Toshiba TZ50V51 50" Rear Projection Television

1 Answer

Re-install TV screen

You told me to pull hard on the housing and it should come off. Should I pull at one of the corners (it seems tighter there) or the middle (more flexible)? I don't want to crack the housing if I can help it. Sorry for so many questions.

How to fix Samsung 58 TV display got half black curved line?

Hi Mazy, sorry to hear about this...

Problem with plasma screens is that they do have a limited life, they also do not like to travel. You have to keep them upright because the glass panel is so heavy. Did you lie it flat for transportation? Is the black area in the middle bottom or in the corner? If it is in the corner, and the mounting point has a problem, it could cause this, but hard to say without seeing it. Does the black area retreat when it is off and cools down? I doubt if it is the system board, sadly if it is the display panel, it would not be worth fixing.

Let me know if you have more details... Good luck.

Screen don't light up

Just do a hard reset to this TV and check. Unplug the TV from AC mains wall socket, and re-plug it back after 15 minutes or so. This process must make it a hard reset. If it do not help you, contact the authorized service center. Its main board is likely to be faulty. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. Viewing it in "Mosaic" or "Magazine" will make surf easy. Pull up older posts. Surf the site with patience. Do a search by type in the brand name of your device at its search box and press "Enter".

I want to repair my dead monitor. Can somebody help me and explain how to remove the back cover to access the electronic board of Viewsonic LCD Monitor Model VG 700. Thanks

First take the speaker cover off the front by working it from the top of the cover on both sides with your fingers. It should snap out top first. Then unplug the cable that connects from the main board to the cover. After that take out the 2 screws from the bottom of the front silver cover. them you take off the silver housing on the front by pushing it towards the top from the bottom. do not pull out on it. It seemed easy if i applied the pressure using my thumbs while holding on to the black parts with my fingers.
Again. the silver front slides up about 1/2 inch and falls off. don't pull out on it.
After that take out the 4 screws that hold the screen into place.
The screen then needs to be pulled gently from its housing. Around the screen there is a metal house that holds it in. The metal houseing does nt come out. The screen needs to be gently worked out of it. I started with one corner and the rest came easily.
Pull it out slowly to make sure you don't put strain on any wires.
Hope that helps.

Did you measure diagonally from corner to corner? This is usually how all manufacturers quote screen size. Hope this helps

i think it is a magenatic effect called degaussing problem. please remove anything very near to it which has got magnet like speaker headphone etc. call tech to gegauss it. it is hardly 5 minutes job. please do not change the angle while watching tv. your tv seems to be 100% ok. good luck.

I just had a similar problem, and it turned out that one of the little rubber buttons was pushed down and had gotten stuck under the plastic housing just enough to create contact, but hardly enough to notice at first glance.
