Hooking up external sound

I have a zenith c34w37 tv. I have a external amplifier with 4 speakers hooked up to it. I have 2 cable tv inputs on the TV, 1 is through the cable box, 1 is without the cable box, which allows me to get some digital and hd channels. when I watch through the cable box input, my external sound works fine, when I go with the direct cable input for hd or digital I get no sound at all from the external source. I have tried both my external amplifier and my stereo system, neither work. I am using the standard variable output jacks from the TV

SOURCE: Zenith 27" HDTV second antenna input not accessible on TV/remote

Hi and welcome to FixYa,

Pls verify if your particular model/versions has a PIP feature. To my understanding, the 2nd Antenna/Cable IN goes to a 2nd tuner that is primarily used for the PIP (picture in picture) mode. This mode would allow you to watch simultaneously 2 different TV channels.

Pls post back. Good luck and thank you for using FixYa.

SOURCE: Zenith C27A24T 27" TV does

Greetings - You need to have you DVD player hooked up to the video inputs - See below. Don't mind the mouse scratch out lines. The Device on the right represents your DVD player.

You then have to choose video as your source on the TV (not channel 3 or 4) using your remote - see below.

You should be good to go.

Enjoy your movies,

Hook up sound bar to zenith plasma tv

If the sound bar has the red and white cable then yes you can use those. Make sure in your settings for the TV you have it set for an external audio source. Since you don't want to use the built in speakers. Probably best to get a tuner if using multiple speakers and a sub.

I have a sceptre flat screen i bought 2 years ago (40") the sound just quit can hook up external speakers?

Read the owner manual or check all the inputs on the rear to see if it has those connections---it is also possible a surround system routed from a box (cable or sat) might work to bypass this issue.

and do not forget to check in the set menu that the speakers did not somehow get switched to OFF.

Zenith inteq iqb50m90w has no sound, hooked up cable box with component cables

To be honest I do not really understand clearly your issue so I will pose a few questions that might clear things for me up:

1. No sound from internal speakers.

2. Speakers have be checked and are not open, disconnected or switched to external or variable audio out only.

3 A DVD or similar connected to a rear video and audio input has no sound.

4. The set had sound when hooked to the bose system.

Do I understand correctly or did I miss something?

If all the above is correct the set has a audio output problem (old trick is put ear directly to a speaker and see if anything, a buzz, faint sound or nothing at all.)

On my Zenith z50p3 plasma tv, I have picture , but the sound is scratchy, I have to raise the volume to 40 before I hear something, and then it is very irratic. Some say it's the sound amplifier. D

First check all your wiring with it turned on wiggle the connections and you mite find you have a dodgey plug somewhere or a break in the wiring

How to hook up speakers? Sound sounds muffled

You DON'T connect speakers to this... this is NOT a powered mixer... you MUST use external amplifier !!!! You use bvalanced (TRS) cables to a suitable power amplifier which connects to speakers. Some Behringer mixers such as the PMP5000 have built in amplifiers to drive speakers... yours does not.

How to hook up sharp dolby surround pro-logic model- HTDP3000 to my RCA tv I need to know exactly how to connect the wires from sharp surround sound to my RCA high definition tv

The source of your program will determine how you hook things up, and if you want to (if it's possible) route the video through the Sharp as well. Some systems have video switching, so you can run all sources through the system, and have a single video cable running to the TV.

If you are using a DVD player, typical Pro-Logic requires a red/white RCA cable from the DVD player to the amplifier unit. The video cable, either a 4-pin S-Video or a yellow composite cable, will run to the amplifier unit for switching purposes, or ditect to an input on the TV.

You can also run red/white RCAs fron the HDTV to an input on the Sharp. You likely have to set the TVs audio output to "fixed" or "external", which will disable the TVs speakers, while putting out sound to the Sharp.

When plugged into my tv they are not very loud, why please

Probably because your TV does not have a built in speaker amplifier. You'll need to hook up a small amplifier to your speakers. Hook up audio cables to the TV AUDIO OUTPUT and then to the INPUT of the amplifier. Hook the speakers up to the AUDIO OUT or SPEAKERS OUT on the amplifier. Probaly have to take a trip to a place like Radio Shack to get the correct cables.... Good Luck.

I have sound but no picture. The screen is black

can you see any any menus or the volume bar or channel indicator?
Make sure all your audio and video cables are hooked up correctly to inputs on the TV and to the same set of hookups. For example all of the VCR cables hooked into video 1 and all of the DVD cables in video 2.
Also check that you haven't hooked up the video to the tv's output. Some sets output audio and/or video for external devices such as recording setups or home theater sound systems.

No sound from external speakers system

Look into your monitor settings and computer settings and see if you can reverse the "input" and "output". If both are set to line in or line out then they pretty much cancell themselves out.
