Cam Olympus D-500L be upgraded to accept higher capacity Smart media cards. Right now it is limited to 8MB, would like to go to 128MB

Cannot be upgraded.. the largest card is the 32mb

The memory card is broken. i dont know where to buy it


This camera ships with a 16MB SmartMedia Card. You can find these with a search on Amazon, but they are not a common card and I fear they are expensive compared to other memory cards. Larger ones (64MB and 128MB) are also available, but I don't know how large a capacity card this camera will accept.

You might want to consider a new camera. You can now buy a better specification camera for not a whole lot more than replacing this memory card.

i have a olympus D600-L camera that has no picture on view finder or lcd screen.when camera powers up there is no error code.seems like a blank screen.

Memory cards


The largest memory card that the camera can support is a 128mb smartmedia card. The card will hold approx 257 images when set to HQ mode.

Olympus c-300 zoom digital camera


The max i've seen verifiably used was 128MB. I have heard reports of 256MB used but could not verify. I currently use 128MB without issue.

XD Picture cards


If you camera takes XD cards - are youn sure that is the case?
The XD card is a standard size - it the camera os an XD type any XD card will go in the slot.

External sync capacity


No, the D-500L/D-600L cameras do not have an external sync for flash. However, the D-620L includes a PC Connector for use with an external flash.
