Look for a sock, or other small item in the pipe to the pump, more common than than you would believe.
Exactly how to access the pump on your washer is dependent on model

Hi David if the timer is not cycling the tub will not drain ,the washer will not complete cycles, second check the lock switch on the door. this can stop the timer and the tub from draining. when not cycling the timer is at fault , this could be two problems, 1st when everything stops check the door safety switch , 2nd listen for the timer, if it stops running. good luck ,geodaws

Maytag centennial washer not working properly in Normal cycle. After it shuts off there is still water in the bottom of the tub. I can move the dial to another setting such as Casual cycle or Heavy Duty...

We have the same problem. The Normal cycle still works, but after the final spin cycle, water is again added (1 gal est.) and the machine stops. Problem occurred after washing an old 25 x 30 inch rug which partially disentegrated when washed. We were seeing particles of the rug in subsequent wash cycles during drain into laundry tub. Don't know if something is plugged in the washer or if it is something else. In another load after the rug wash, the top of the washer was lifted during the wash cycle. The water problem occurred immediately after lifting the lid as the wash load went through remaining cycles. Maybe this affected the timer? Maytag customer service suggested unplugging power cord to re-set timer. This didn't make any difference. We need a technician to tell us if this is a timer problem or something else?

Washer won't drain

hi,
The timer went bad. If you move the timer manually to spin will it pump the water out? if it works that way then the timer is bad for sure

Stopped working mid cycle. The timer still counts down but does not fill, agitate, spin, drain. And before it stopped, the water that was draining out smelled really bad.

The filter on your pump is probably clogged with lint and stuff. You have to remove the bottom front panel, 3 torx screws underneath. The panel will drop and come off. Drain off the excess water from the hose you see. The white filter cover is right in front. Get yourself a bunch of towels or a good big plastic bag to collect water. Unscrew the filter cover and twist the filter out. Clean out all the stuff and put it back in carefully.

Next: You can use Affresh to clean your front loader. Deposits of soap and other such things can be stuck around the inside tub of your washer. Try this product, it works great on all front loaders. Use quite hot water with the Affresh pellet with no clothes and run the machine through a cycle. Also helps with any stagnant water smells. Have you cleaned out your pump lately. Put the pellet inside the machine, not in the soap dispenser.
Pl give me a good rating for the free help, thanks.

Frigidaire (LTF2940E) Washer starts, stops, starts, stops...

The cycle doesn't advance When the cycle doesn't advance, it's probably the timer or a cold-water supply problem:

  • It's the timer, if your washing machine fills with water and begins agitating, but the timer never advances--or if the washer is in a spin cycle and the timer won't advance. Then you need to replace the timer.

  • It may be a cold-water supply problem, if the washing machine fills with water, agitates, drains, and spins, but then doesn't fill with rinse water. See There's no cold water.

Washer empties afterwash cycle but doesn't empty during the rinse

Your drain filter is clogged with debris. Usually small items like dirt, paper, money, and much more. Clean the filter and you should be set to go.

Washer Machine does not work properly.

MR, Im assuming that your model starts with 417-44102. There could be a number of problems here but lets start with the drain pump itself. On this model, even though the tub looks empty there could be water under the basket. There is a pressure switch that will not allow the unit to spin if it detects water in the tub. I have found on many occasions that the pump has debris in it preventing a full drain. If you drop the bottom panel you will see the pump on the right side bottom. Get a pan, remove the hoses and clean out the debris. Another thing is you want to make sure that the hot and cold water are turned on to the washer, it will not advance if they are not turned on. If these areas check out ok, then some detailed tests will have to be made on the motor controller. Catriver...post back
