battery will not stay charged over two days

  • chezzled Jan 04, 2009

my Kodak C643 does about 120-150 photos (which is one day when on holiday) and then the batteries are done, and it only seems to work with the expensive batteries too.

Batteries last only a few days tried default setting but they still run down in a few days

Try using the Energizer Lithium batteries in this unit. They have an extended life on them and usually they will be a better battery especially in game trail cameras. We use these in all of our game trail cameras, cuddeybacks and bushnells. They work extremely well for us. Also, try contacting moultrie through there customer service site and most times if they can not help you with the unit, they will replace the unit, or work with you.
Hope this helps.

Battery life for my camera is miserable - I've had the camera for 2 years and I'm already on my second battery. Is this a function of the make and model or do I have a faulty camera? Thank you

That is not good, by the way is there a possibility that the battery is over charge? because overcharging it will cause some damage on the battery and it will only good for a few months...

Hope that helps........

Short battery life with AAs or camera won't even power up on new batteries?

Many digital cameras (eg Samsung D53, Nikon 2100) have extremely poor battery life with alkaline batteries (under 20 shots!). Sometimes they won't even take a single picture.

Try using rechargeable batteries or "oxyride" disposable batteries. They perform infinately better.

Battery life poor.if battery voltage drops below 1.4 volts low battery warning starts and a couple of pictures later camera shuts off.I use only alkalane AA cells.

HI there its a symbol of poor battery condition. So i suggest you replace with a new rechargeable battery for your camera & resolve the problem. Thanks,

Doesnt stay on

This camera eats the batteries. I have had the same problem. I would suggest buying rechargeable batteries and keeping them fresh. It will work fine with a new set of batteries. The 30 day battery life is a lie. More like a couple days if that. I use this for paranormal research and since I don't need it in a field or trail, I have a conversion from D cell to 110 volt below.

BE-4AA adapter, four AA to D size shell adapters along with a 110VAC to 12VDC adapter . This will give you 4 D size cells and an output voltage of 6VDC @ 500mA, from a 110VAC source.

But if this in on a game trail, there will not be a use for the 110 volt. Bushnell needs to review this camera alittle better and fix it's energy drain.

Camera turns on and straight of again

It may be that your batteries are flat. If you are using alkaline AA batteries, try NiMH rechargeable or Lithium disposable batteries, as the battery life can be extremely poor with alkaline batteries. Some cameras won't even work reliably with new alkalines.

Otherwise, it could be faulty, and will need professional repair.

Battery life is poor or fails to charge sufficiently

You can try other lithium batteries. If no luck and your camera is over 3 years old you may just have to buy a new one. The old ones cost as much or more to repair than the price of a new one. Then you could try Amazon for new/refurbished/used ones. I use Consumer Reports to get ratings on all products I buy. You may want to try that.
