You need to know the brand and model of your motherboard then go to the manufacturer's website and download the drivers that is compatible with your OS.

I just bought a used computer and the wifi isn't working. I can get online with a ethernal cable...but I want the wireless to work. it is a toshiba satelite l505d-s5965..

just curious have you check that the drivers are installed? just navigate to device manager . right click on my computer choose properties then hardware tab and press the button that says device manager. is the wireless adapter listed with the either net under network? and if so is there any ? marks or ! marks over it. if so there are hardware driver issues, if there is no wireless adapter listed and you see unknown device then the driver probably is not installed. alternatively you can just add a usb wireless adapter which should work even better than internal one. here are the drivers for that model L505d I would download and reinstall it to make sure its just the driver.

I upgrade from vista to window 7.but window 7 did not detect my wireless model f700.i went to hp to download the driver but only window vista nothing for window7

Windows 7 has the option to virtualize drivers to make them work, try to install as usual but before installing right click on the installation file and in the context menu click on properties, the properties windows will show up, browse through the tabs until you get to the compatibility settings, click on the dropdown list and set the compatibility mode for vista or XP depending on the drivers click on apply and then on accept, try to install your drivers now, if Vista drivers are not installed successfully try installing XP drivers after setting the compatibility mode for the installation file to XP.

Also remember to run the drivers' installation file as administrator.

It works on most cases, if you still have problems let me know and I'm sure we can both figure this out.

Hi dear Sir/Madam I formated my system cause virus attack,my system Model No is [ AWRDACPI ] but I still not back my drivers vga and sound card, how can i reinstall my drivers, every sites showing buy from...

You have not said what operating system you are using. If you are using XP or Vista or 7, the operating system comes with nearly all the drivers required to support the devices the OS will run.

A place I would suggest you start is the Windows 7 compatibility list. Find it here: http://www.microsoft.com/windows/compatibility/windows-7/en-us/default.aspx. Look up each hardware device you require drivers for. If the device is listed, you can get additional information and the source of any required drivers.

If you are running Vista or XP or (gasp) ME or even W-98, there are similar sites that you can be linked to. Be aware ME and 98 are no longer supported ... translation, there is no new information posted after the official expiration date.

If you don't find the device listed under the OS you are using, there probably is no driver. However, before you replace the device, check with the computer manufacturer or the device manufacturer. For example, if your computer is a HP ... go to www.hp.com/support If your device is a nokia ... yo would go to www.nokia.com/support

Good luck with your project and thanks for your question

I have installed a Netgear WNR3500U router on my home network. My Windows 7 WiFi laptop had no trouble finding the router, connecting, and accessing the internet. But our Windows Vista WiFi laptop can...

Check firewall settings in vista, might need to create exemptions to allow access. Check Antivirus settings in vista, might need to create exemptions. Quick test is to switch off both antivirus and firewall in order to establish connection. Also check if there is a newer wifi driver for your laptop.

Were do i refresh the network list

When you are connected to the internet you should have a single "tv monitor" in the lower left tray with sound wave looking things like this ))) to the right of it.

Right click on that, then click "view available wireless connections".

That will give you a list of the available wireless signals. And the abilility to refresh any current or new wifi signals. If you get a message that says "windows cannot configure this wireless device". That means you have a different utility other than windows that is running your wifi connection. If that is the case you should have an icon in the tray that will do the same thing

Windows vista laptop lost connection to the internet

Start off simple. Try a different port on the router. If that doesn't work, try a new cable. If that doesn't work, go to the Device Manager in Windows. (Right-click My Computer, select Manage, go to Device Manager). Does the card look okay? Has it been disabled or need a driver update? If we're still looking at issues then I would take a look at your router security. How many DHCP licences do you allowed to be assigned? Also do you have security in place (WEP/WPA, Mac Filtering, SSID Broadcast)? If you are light on security and only have a few assignable DHCP licences, you may have neighbors leeching your internet access.

To clarify: DHCP assigns a network IP address to each device on its network. Most Linkys routers have a default of 10, you may have reduced this yourself. If you have, you've limited the # of devices allowed on the network. So if you have 3 DHCP licenses available, and a couple neighbors are leeching, your Dell may not get assigned an ip.

If you still need further help, let me know.
