PCL5415R conv. board problem. Having trouble finding part number. I have the manual Samsung
I have been told that my convergence board on my PCL5415RX/XAA is bad. I bought the manual but am unable to find the "CONVERGENCE BOARD", I have been told part number is AA95-00705A. I am not a TV repairman but have very good electrical skills. Can someone help? Samsung is useless when it comes to tech support. I have the picture breakdown and parts list that I could e-mail to someone. THANKS

Re: PCL5415R conv. board problem. Having trouble finding...
I'll take a look if you want to forward them to me:
This convergence board problem seems to be very common and if they are not too model specific (firmware embedded) there may be service companies repairing them.
I don't; haven't done a whole lot of service for years partially due to the difficulty of trying to pry stuff out of the hands (or shelves) of Asia.
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need. goodluck!

A bluish picture is not a result of its bad convergence board. Check its video output card, for any loose solder terminals or damaged component/s. Please save your money and get this unit repaired, just because the set displays a "Convergence"SYMPTOM does NOT mean that changing that board will fix the unit, 9/10 it will NOT. I see this time and time again in the shop whereby people think they can fix their TV whatever, and mistake the SYMPTOM, for the cause and try to fix, usually unsuccessfully at that. The CAUSE must be repaired as well as the symptom, simply replacing a board will seldom "Repair" anything as the original fault that caused the symptom still has NOT been fixed. Please get a "Quote" they are free and at least then you will know what is the problem, even if you decide NOT to repair you have that information. Also one MUST have a Service Manual to be able to order the parts as without this number you simply cannot get parts.. it is that simple.
I presume actual model number is PCL5415R---you can buy the
AA95-01799Rboard--it is available :
I would suggest since it is over 100 dollars it makes more sense if you have a convergence problem to buy and replace the two STK-392-040 convergence chips on it--there may be a fuse on the board bad--easy to find--
You can buy a pair of the chips on Ebay for less than 20 dollars
Let me know if you have questions--I have seen people who replace the board have new problems-cheaper and better to repair the one in the set.

You may also have a problem with the convergence. There are three color cans that project the image on the screen. A red one, green one and a blue one. The blue one is the one that you should try and adjust. Have you tried to realign the convergence yet? You should be able to go into the menu setting and locate this option is is typically done using the remote. What you will see is some cross marks starting in the center and move to the four coners. When you adjust it you will want to align all three (red, green and blue) crosses where neither color is more prevalent. If you are unable to get the blue can to align with the others, there is a problem with the convergence board. These boards or ICs can be replaced, if you have a repairman fix it your looking at around $250 - $400. If you would like to fix it yourself you can get the parts from... http://nfm.partsearch.com/Model/Samsung/Samsung/PCL5415R.aspx

perfect focus functions are based on service mode setup...or factory settings. if the alignment of these setting are loss then the unit wont perfect focus. does the unit have a complete loss of convergence. a complete loss of convergence indicate possible failure of convergence amps.
Although I am not incredibly familiar with your model, There is most likely a small board mounted above the others near the crts, there is a small red connector with a blue wire if you unhook it it will remove power from the convergence IC's and if they are shorted it might come up with conv out, will need a new module.
