Canon ip 4200 printer problem

My interpretation from the book is that photo paper is best fed from the
top, but any normal weight (20-24 lb) paper can be fed from the tray. It is
a tougher track for the heavier papers in the tray.

I can hear the ink carriages move and also hear the back of the plastic
tray flip up, but the feed rollers do not seem to move (I observed this
with the back door flipped down).
As i said, I don't understand why it worked fine only last week & I
haven't touched it since.
I'm using the 4x6 canon photo paper & it is in the tray oriented
properly.
What next?

Maybe you should check the paper feed setting on the printer properties. Try change it to automatic feed paper

If you look into the paper feed area, can you see the feed rollers turning,
but the paper not moving? If so, I would try to wipe off the feed mechanism
with a damp cloth. I can't imagine that it should need that this soon out of
the box. If that doesn't help, I can't offer another suggestion. Does the
photo paper you are using meet the Canon specs?
