Question about Samsung CLP 300 Laser Printer

1 Answer

Samsung CLP 300 will not print

This printer is 3 mos old and either prints so faint the image can barley be seen or it appears to print nothing at all. I have checked all my settings, ran in compatability mode of XP and others, changed toner cartridges (all of them) tried different usb cables, reloaded all drivers into my pc ect... I can think of nothing else to try.

I appreciate the tip. Sad for me that has also been tried from bot the printer itself and the program provided with the printer. Thanks for trying.

Faint grey printing

According to the service manual for problems with light print image, the cause can be the Developers or High Voltage Power Supply (HVPS). Other possible causes are given as: Developer roller is stained when the toner or developer cartridge is almost consumed. Ambient temperature is below 10 degrees Centigrade. Bad contacts with the HVPS or abnormal output from the HVPS. To replace the Developers you would need to purchase a replacement Imaging Kit CLP-R300A. Any problems in the HVPS would require a factory repair.

The printing is poor, all the colours are faint, it happens before and after I changed the cartridge.

If the print is faint with vertical striping pattern as show in the black of this picture.slamfix_41.jpg The problem is with the developer in the imaging unit. The problem can be fixed by either replacing the imaging unit for $100+ or you can fix it yourself by cleaning the imaging unit. You will need simple hand tools and if you are careful restore the print quality of your printer. Printing is faint on edges of documents. I have a CLP-300 printer, when I print the edges of the sheet are very faded, but the center seems to be fine. Any ideas what would cause this?

Black print is very faint

If the print is faint, streaky in a vertical fashion up and down the page, the problem lies with the developer blades in the imaging unit. To fix this, you will need to clean the blades or buy a new imaging unit. The imaging unit cost $100+ and the problem will be fixed until the blades get dirty again. Or you can learn how to clean the blades yourself. I have an instruction post and it can be found by clicking on the following link http://www.fixya.com/support/r4120906-clean_developer_blades_samsung_clp_300
Hope this helps.

Hi. My Samsung CLP 300 Laser is playing up. It

The problem you are experiencing is a common problem with this printer. What happens is over time as the printer is used, toner or developer builds up a film on the developer blades. The developer blades meter the amount of toner that the printer puts on the paper to make the image. As the film builds up, less and less toner makes it to the page causing the image to become faint. The black developer blade probally is clogged.
This can be fixed two ways. The easiest and most expensive is to buy a new imaging unit for about $100+. The second is to disassemble your imaging unit and clean the developer blade(s). This can be done in about 30 minutes. I have posted instructions in my Tips section.

Printing in black is not the same shade through out the paper

This is a very common problem with the Samsung CLP 300 and CLX 3160 printers. What happens is that the toner or developer blades become coated with toner. The developer blades meter the amount of toner that the printer uses to make the image on the paper. When the blade become blocked, the image become faint. To fix this problem, you and either replace the imaging unit for about $100 or you can clean the blades yourself. I have posted instructions how to clean them on my Tips section.

Samsung clp-300 faint print on left side

Same problem here.
I ended up calling Samsung support and, after being hung up on a couple of times, and transferred numerous other times, I managed to speak with someone who helped me through a few tests.
He ended up sending me a new imaging unit. This is the main guts of the printer (when you open up the front panel and pull the green handle, the entire thing you're pulling out is the imaging unit).
Since the unit was only 8 months old this new part was free (I think the warranty is a year).
After installing this new part, the problem went away.
