If you go to the aol site you can select on that page 'make this my homepage' (or simular to that) if that fails go to your control panel then internet options and type in the aol webpage there and apply

I have a HP computer, with Windows XP,2002. I had Norton Antivirus 2007, via CD, added to my computer. I want to UNinstall the program. Everything seemed to go OK, --then a display that said, Setup...

Hi co2donjo,

It appears that your un-install didn't quite finish in its entirety, no problem try this:
First off, go to control panel and click on security, see if windows still recognizes norton as your antivirus. If not and it says you are unprotected, go ahead and download the av of your choose, however, Avast is hard to beat, its free and reliable. Follow the setup instructions. You may get a message that says "Avast has detected other av programs install on this computer-do you want to continue with install, click yes or OK. Once your av is up and running go around and delete anything and everything that says norton/symtac. There are quicker ways of deleting the norton av, but, that would depend on your level of windows expertise. You don't want to go snooping through your root directory or your root if your not clear on what to do, so, try this and see if it helps.

I can access the WEB but download email. I receive a page that identifies a service problem & provides an error code:COFE1700.

someone I know had this problem. Apparently this is a security issue. We tried everything and nothing worked, getting new browser, deleting cookies, change password. Apparently the problem was Norton. The cofe1700 error code dissapear after we updated to the newest version of norton.
Thats why I don't use norton protects your computer but gives you other kind of headaches. i hope this solves the error code:COFE1700 for everyone.

AOL Home Page

go to tools menu in the menu bar in internet explorer, then go to internet options. Set your home page as you like in the internet options box.

Alternatively locate internet options inside control panel, it will open same box.
Here is an example of how internet options windows looks like:

In the past, when I logged on I went straight to the Yahoo Home Page. Now when I log on I get an AOL screen and I have to get to Yahoo using the Favourites option. I never asked to be involved in AOL. ...

Hi,
If you are using windows Outlook express, Internet surf to the page you want to have as your home page. Click on the menu

-tools
-Internet options
-general

At the very top of this window you should be able to choose your home page.

My Windows xp version offers me the option to just

"click here to use current as home page". Then:

-apply
-okay

Your version may be different.

If you are not an outlook user or don't understand any of this please just post as much info as you can about what you know about your computor and I'll get back to you.
