Open the internet explorer Click on Tools tab on upper right side corner Then click on Internet Options Then click on Connections tab Then click on LAN Settings Make sure nothing is checked over there. Then click OK OK and then try to go online.
Please connect your computer directly to your DSL / Cable modem and check if your internet is working fine, if not turn off your modem and restart after a minute or two.
Now check again if the internet is working by directly connecting your laptop to your modem. if it is not working, contact ISP. if it is working, turn on your router and check if your wireless connection is working.
If you wireless connection is still not working, please check if you have plugged the modem to the internet / WAN port behind your router.
Also try logging to your router page (refer to manual for procedure) and try changing the wireless channel.
if it is laptop and it shows full bars at the bottom of the screen, like you have excellent or good signal, - then something is wrong with your router, try reseting your router holding reset button for 30 seconds, it should bring it to factory settings.. after 1 min try to reconnect your laptop to your wireless network
right click your icon in taskbar
click wireless connections a box should come up
highlight the connection then click connect
if nothing shows in box on left side click refreh list you may need to this a few times when a connection appears highlight click connect
if that did'nt work then control panel network connections right click your wireless connection if you see enable then click if you do not see enable then click repair
your ethernet driver for direct connection is probably not setup
try the first 2 options let me know if they help
