Question about Xerox WorkCentre C2424DN All-In-One Laser Printer

I can print but it will no longer copy or scan.

When I try to copy orscan I get a page with either a solid color background and nothing on it or sometimes the page is a lot of color bands (mostly green and black). Ocassionally after trying for an hour or so it will start working and will continue to work as long as I am doing something continuously, but if I stop for a half hour or so, it stops working again.

Your scan lamp or the CCD which converts the image it sees into a digital signal are bad.
Pretty much all you can do is replace the scanner. There are very few parts spared for that scanner.

Background on all white pages copies are gray


check printer settings or document settings back ground color settings
you can print a page color to any of the color bar settings so there is a setting that has been change to grey that is causing the problem

Why when I select color copy on HP Deskjet 3050 J610, it prints with a blue background?


The issue is from the glass on the copier, it would be better if you clean it very well or possible change.

All of my copies and scans have a yellow background. This does not happen when I print a document directly.


You might be scanning and copying in full color even for regular documents. When you do this, it treats the document as a photograph or color document and therefore, the background, even if white, is scanned in as a bit yellow

Printouts have a solid yellow background


If you look at the transfer belt, it will probly have yellow all over it. More than likely, by have a bad yellow toner.

Scanned Items or Copies all print in Solid Black


I assume that you mean color images are being produced in black and white. If that's the case, there's a document on the HP web site that shows you what to look for and provides solutions:

Canon Pixma 750, works great, except that it will no longer copy.

You need to be more specific. Does nothing happen when you press the Copy button? Does it give you a blank page, a solid inked page, or no page for the copy? Do you get the same results for Color Copy or Black and White Copy?

HP J5780 All in one printer


Once try to make a scan and if we are getting line even while scanning. Then perform the steps given in the below webpage.

Directly go to step three and then try to make a copy.

If the issue still persists then power cycle the all-in-one.

  1. Turn the product off.
  2. Unplug the power cord from the product.
  3. Wait 30 seconds, and then reconnect the power cord to the product.
  4. Turn the product on.
  5. Make a color copy by pressing the Start Copy Color button on the control panel.
Now try to make a copy and check for the result. If the issue still persists then reset the all-in-one.

  1. Unplug the power cord from the product.
  2. Press and hold # and 6 while plugging in the power cord.
  3. Make a color copy of any document by pressing the Start Copy Color button on the control panel.

Copier feature (Black or Color) only produces a Black page


I beleive you are not able to make a color copy, once try to scan from the computer or all-in-one to check whether the scanner mechanism is working properly or not, if the scan comes out fine then remove the color cartridge and clean the copper contacts of the cartridge with soft cotton cloth and also check the ink level of the cartridge, if the issue persists replace the color cartridge and if even the scan does not comes out good then there is an issue with the scanner mechanism.
