How to open the back cover of the LCD monitor

At power on normal display will appear but for a few seconds display will disappear. Cable seems to be ok. I tried another but same type of cable but still the same problem. My cpu seems to be fine if use with another CRT monitor. I'd like to resolder possible loose pins or connection inside the lcd monitor but do not know how to open the back cover. Please help if u have any idea on how to uncover the back of the lcd....tnx

Hi..there,
It's seems you got a backling inverter busted. Need to replaced a new one or repaired it. To repaired you need to replaced a bad capacitors with a bulged on top of each caps. Not sure...just replaced all the caps...:) Ok! to open the back cover, there are 2 types to open it. First unscrew the 4 corner screws. If there are some... First type it from the back. After you had removed all the screws. Get a good grip on the bottom R/H side with both hands pulling as hard as you can on the 2 joints. 2nd type from the front bezel. Laid your monitor screen upward and placed a piece of clothes to proctect the screen from smudged. Used 2 hands to lifted up the edged of a bezel...do the same on the other side... After that just removed the screws...and that's how to open the front and back cover... Have a nice day!

There is a problem with the capacitors in your monitor. This is a normal problem these days with flat screen monitors, I am trying to find out why it is always like tha. This will normally be caused by improper shut down or power fluctuations in your monitor. Capacitrs in your monitor are responsible for holding down the power from the supply, fr the proper display on your monitor. If a capacitor is damaged, or buldged, it no longer holds power long enough for your display, and that is why your screen goes black after a few seconds. This can be solved by opening up your monitor, using a sharp and flat object, opening it starting from the bottom working your way up until the cover is completely out. You will notice finger-like clips that are holding the two covers together. Once you are done, check on the circut board where you connect the power cable.... that is where you are going to find the damaged capacitor(s). You can identify them by noting their bulged head or if there is any liquid coming out of it. Before you replace the, take note of the polarity (+) and (-) so that whenever you replace with the new one it is in the same direction. This will fix up your problem. Note: make sure you let a Computer Technician to do this for you, unless you can do it yourself without damaging the monitor. Thank you

Iuse thin flat blade screw driver to separate the case starting at the bottom edge and work your way around, watch out for any cable attached to the front bezel.

Most common cause of the failed monitors are bad caps in the power supply, if it is about two years old, I would open it up and look for bad caps first, then look for any burnt parts, post back so we can guide you further, see failed SAMSUNG monitors due to bad caps: http://s807.photobucket.com/home/budm/allalbums

Dell 1907FPt picture appears for three seconds, then off, LED power remains

I have the same problem. I talked to a few people and it is believed that the condition has been caused by a power surge.
My monitor is out of warranty, so I intend to open it up to check the fuse(s).

I will post result of that soon.

Dell E151FPb 15" LCD with power LED blinking.

The problem may be a loose connection. When I turn on my monitor, the green light blinks and a flickering white screen appears for a brief second every time. There must be a loose connection on the power board which may be causing this. The easiest solution is to tap at the back of the monitor. This will reconnect the loose end and the monitor will work fine until it gets disconnected again. I will open my monitor soon to find the real problem. But it will take some time to find it.
