hi,
it does appear that even create 4 didn't have windows 7 support. You may try installing and then changing to windowsxp compatible mode by right clicking the icon and selecting properties and the compatibility tab then place a check in "run this program in compatibility mode" and choose windopws xp. and or install virtual PC with windowsxp compatible then install and run your older software in a virtual machine.

hope this helps

I instal a windows vista but i can't find my audio

Is your audio device compatible with Windows 7? Did you check the hardware compatibility list before you installed the upgrade? Did you run the compatibility test (called Is Your Computer ready for 7?)

Find the list here: http://www.microsoft.com/windows/compatibility/windows-7/en-us/default.aspx Click on hardware and then find your device. If your device is compatible, the list will tell you - you will also find additional information at the post.

If your device is not compatible, you will have to upgrade it to a devise that is compatible.

Thanks for your question @ FixYa.com

What cause windows 7 to crash so i can avoid crashing as much as possible

Most of those are poor written device drivers and applications. You can go to windows 7 compatible application list to check and see whether the one you are going to install is working well with windows 7. Here are couple links which might help on that.

Follow the directions to enable Compatibility Mode in Windows 2000 and try running your application in compatibility mode for windows 95.
  1. Log on as Administrator.
  2. Click Start, and then click Run.
  3. In the Open box, type the following command, and then click OK, where %SystemRoot% is the drive and folder in which Windows is installed (eg C:Windows): regsvr32 %systemroot%apppatchslayerui.dll
  1. Log on as Administrator.
  2. Right-click the shortcut (for scrabble), and then click Properties.
  3. Click Compatibility.
  4. Click to select the Run in Compatibility Mode check box to enable Compatibility-mode support for the program.
  5. Click Windows 95 compatibility mode in the drop-down box.
  6. Click OK to save the changes.
  7. Double-click the shortcut to run the program.
Good Luck!

Are these compatible...Pole Display LD200-HP and Quickbooks POS 8.0Pro? The setup utility on the CD doesn't work.

This is not compatible.
Inside POS go to help, help topics and search for hardware.
It will have a list of compatible hardware.
Or look here:

I am unable to install hunting unlimited 4.Is it vista compatable?

It seems that Hunting unlimited 4 is only for systems up to Windows XP....
Try installing the game in compatability mode...might work...
explore the game cd
look for the setup.exe or install.exe
right click and view properties
look for the compatability tab
under compatability click the box that says run this program in compatability mode ....make sure you choose windows xp then ok the window
now double click on the exe file that you´ve just changed and see if that works

Program will not open

If a program will not open

1. uninstall the program from the add/remove
2. attempt to reinstall the program
3. attempt to run the program
4. if the program will still not open go to step 5

5. Some programs may be incompatable with your operating system and fail to open, if you have windows XP or vista you can right click on the executable

an executable (file) causes a computer to perform indicated tasks according to encoded instructions.

and click the compatability mode tab , then change what operating system is reported to the program, then hit apply and attempt to run the program again.

6. if after changing compatability setting of the to windows 95 the program still does not open
change the compatability to windows 98/windows me , hit apply and attempt to run the program again.

7. if after changing the compatability mode to windows 98/windows me , and your program still does not open , change the compatability setting to windows NT 4.0 (service pack 5), hit apply and attempt to run the program again.

8. if after changing the compatability mode to windows NT 4.0 ( service pack 5 ) and your program fails to rurn , change the compatability mode to windows 2000 , hit apply and attempt to run the program again.

9. if after changing the compatability mode to all of the available settings your program still fails to run , you may have a corrupt executable or an executable that is not compatable with your operating system.

I am trying to install Resume Workshop on my new computer and it has Vista operating system

Most programs written for Windows XP also work in this version of Windows, but some older programs might run poorly or not at all. If a program written for an earlier version of Windows doesn't run correctly, use the Program Compatibility Wizard to change the compatibility settings for the program. To change settings for a program manually, use the individual program's Compatibility tab.
If changing the settings does not fix the problem, go to the program manufacturer's website to see if there is an update for the program.

How to Run the Program Compatibility Wizard 1. Open the Program Compatibility Wizard by clicking the Start button getopencontent.aspx?assetid=4f6cbd09-148c-4dd8-b1f2-48f232a2fd33&documentset=en-us&renderkey=xml, clicking Control Panel, clicking Programs, and then clicking Use an older program with this version of Windows.
2. Follow the instructions in the wizard.

If you cannot install a program, insert the installation disc for the program and, using the wizard, browse to the program's setup file, usually called Setup.exe, Install.exe, or something similar. The wizard is not designed to work on programs that have an .msi file name extension.
To change compatibility settings manually for a program, right-click the icon for the program, click Properties, and then click the Compatibility tab.

I have bought a Mikomi M6219 webcam but its not compatible with vista. Where can i get the necessary drivers for this

There is only one driver listed in the link provided below and it does not offer any details as to which operating systems it is compatible with. This link is from the manufacturers website. If the package says that it is not compatible, then you will probably not find a driver that will work with vista. Try downloading the driver for M6219Z/MZ. This would be the next model in that series, and may be compatible with vista, however, once again the website offers no details on which operating systems it is compatible with. The newer webcams that are featured on their website are all compatible with vista.
