Question about Xerox WorkCentre XD120f Copier
It was working fine went away from work for while and came back with the printer showing error code E7 and not photocopying.asked employees how it happened they dont know
An E7 is related to the scanner. The lamp carriage is gettiing hung up on something or a cable has broken or popped off a pulley. What I have seen most of the times, is the lamp carriage is hitting the sensor that tells the machine the lamp is in the ready position. Biased to the left side of the machine. remove the platen glass and see if you can move the lamp fairly easily. And when movine it back to the left, pay attention if you feel it hitting something.
Also here is the procedure to clear the code.
Performing a Fault Reset 1 01 will reset your Scanner, and allow you to check the Scanner for broken parts as it moves.
