Hi,

Let's try the easy ones first:

  • check pressure incoming water supply (consistent between 30 & 120 psi;
  • check the supply filter if you have one installed;
  • try a reset, unplug from the mains for a couple of hours to dissipate residual power. Hopefully this will revert the unit back to factory defaults;
  • double check the water level sensor.
Other than the above, all other diagnosis and test would require opening the unit.
This of course would require a fair familiarity of electronic components/circuitry and safety procedures, use of a DVM and a soldering iron. It would be to your added advantage access to a service manual or at the very least a schematic diagram with voltage readings. Should you be uncomfortable performing a DIY (do-it-yourself), perhaps your best bet would then be to seek the services of a qualified professional.

Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards. Thank you for using FixYa.

All these machines use a sensor to regulate the flow of water to make ice, this is the weak part in the system, have it changed and the problem will be cured, I have first hand knowledge of this problem so I know the fix is correct.

Water keeps running and the ice maker isn't making ice

The ice maker will not make ice with the water running in contently this keeps the water temp to high. Turn machine off, cut water supply off to machine, remove water inlet valve, ether take valve apart and rebuild it or replace the water inlet valve. Reassemble in reverse order and machine should make ice.

Ice maker leaks water into ice bin

Some things I have seen that causes this issue:
A. Plug not sealing properly in the bottom of the water reservoir
B. An issue dealing with the circulation pump. Maybe splashing water out of the reservoir while running due to crack in pump housing, especially around impeller, or hose that feeds water from recirculation pump to cold plate has a crack/split/loose connection.

Have you checked to assure the long narrow hose that comes from the upper lback left corner is attached both on top and inside the water tray? This drove me nuts for 3 hours.
