I Hate Photography - I So Don't Understand It

When in the Playback Mode, I have 12 pictures showing & I want to erase them. I'm trying to follow the Ownder's Manual, to no avail.

I'm also trying to take a picture. The Red Light next to the View Finder is coming on. What do I do now?

Okay, first to erase one at a time:
go to playback mode then find the picture you want to erase. Press the trash can button (it's the 3rd button down in the middle) only press it one time while the picture is showing it will bring up a screen on the left, use the button that at the top back of the camera that goes to the next picture and with your thumb look at the left part of the screen and go down and select the little icon that look is under the first one highlighted then just press the button just to the right of the Menu buttom (this is the enter button and it's not clearly marked at all). This will erase/delete the selected picture.

To format card and erase all pictures: do all the above but when you press the trash button press it again and hold it for a second and the screen will give you more icons at the left of the screen toggle down to the bottom icon and press the enter button and your format screen will come up. It's easy from there.

Repeatedly press the MODE button until you get to the Playback mode, marked by a right-pointing triangle. Use cursor-left/right to navigate through your pictures. Press "W" to show thumbnails, "T" to zoom in.

Full details are in the manual in the "Playback Mode" section (page 26). If you need a manual, you can download one at

How do i delete pictures from my camera

You don't tell us what kind of camera you have, so it's rather difficult to tell; however here are the general principles that apply to most cameras.

You should be viewing photos, rather than being ready to take another one.

To erase one picture, press the button that has an icon of a trash can on it. You will be asked to confirm that you want to erase it.

To erase all pictures on your memory card, again from 'playback' mode, press the menu button - you'll have to search for the "erase all" function because it won't be too easy to find (deliberately). If you see a scroll bar, you may have to press "down" until you can see the options that are off the screen, but it should be there.

Any problems, post back with the model number of the camera.

Erasing the memory card;

All pictures in the internal memory and/or on the memory card can be erased at once. This is accomplished through either formatting or the "all-frame erase" function. I copied the following instructions from the advanced manual, which can be downloaded here: http://www.olympusamerica.com/files/d545zadvman.pdf. Adobe reader should open that file with no problem. If it doesn't, that's another issue altogether.

1. Enter playback mode by pressing the play button.
2. Press the OK MENU button.
3. Press the right arrow button (next to the lightning bolt) to access [MODE MENU]
4. Then, press the down arrow to access the [MEMORY(CARD)] tab.
5. Select the [ALL ERASE] function.
6. Select Yes and press OK MENU.

(You'll need to use the arrow buttons to navigate the menus. Please see pg 16 of the manual for instructions on how to do so.)

Note: when the memory card is in the camera, it will erase the pictures off the card. When the card is removed, the function above will erase the internal memory.

Picture lock

Protected pictures cannot be erased using [ERASE],
[SEL. IMAGE] or [ALL ERASE], but they are all erased by
formatting.
• Go to Playback mode in the camera. Select the picture to be unlocked with the left or right arrow buttons, and to remove the protection select OFF with the up or down arrow button.

Cannot locate Playback mode for Polaroid i1035 Didital Camera

It may have something to do with your camera running on auto, internal, or sd option for your memory storage.

When you get to your black screen, try pressing the "w" in your zoom to see if you have taken any pictures. You did find the playback mode...so congradulations.

Can't Erase Pics & Red LIght Question

do you have an SD type of card? if so, then this may help:

pull the SD card from the the slot and it right side up with the label facing you, there is a short slot on the side with a sliding switch. move it to the other side of the slot and that will unlock the card. (it probably go moved as your were putting the card back into your camera) good luck!

Need to delete memory

You need to remove the memory card from the camcorder and place it into a pc or photo shops computer. This will allow you to view the saved items on the memory card. You can then save these to disc and delete the contents on the card.

Blue screen on playback on Sony DCR-HC40

You can see an image in a camcorder viewfinder any time the camera's actually on in record mode, whether or not the camcorder is actually recording. So that's no guarantee.

Assuming the obvious (you have the right kind of tapes, they're not in write-protect mode, you rewind before playing, etc). I recommend that you borrow a tape of the same kind from someone else and check it on playback in your camcorder. This should lead you know understand if you have a playback problem or a recording problem.

If your video looks good on a monitor then more then likely your ES3012-5MLZ30PW is good....I would try taking the video from that camera to a different input on the recoding device to see if the problem follows....If you don’t have a different input try a different camera and record for 5 min and then playback to see if dose the same thing.....You can also take the video feed from the ES3012-5MLZ30PW to a different recorder and see if the problem follows....good luck and let me know if this helps.....you can always call Pelco at 1-800-289-9100 they do their tech support 24/7 365.....they really set the standard in tech support....
