Question about Whirlpool Duet GHW9150P Front Load Washer

2 Answers

WFS1071AW is my type of whirlpool front loader

The water entry into the machine is fine with nothing blocking it. But i keep getting the red light on for "water tap closed". At one point the water did start flowing in but soon stopped and turn on the warning light again. I have noticed a couple of other people have had similar problems but there was no solution provided. Please suggest how to fix it??

Thank you,

Hi I have the same problem. After the machine fills and proceeds to wash, the red light appears suggesting the tap is closed. I have cleaned out the inlet pipes thoroughly, however it still happens. Any other suggestions???

    Thanks Chris

New machine water tap closed the machine keeps cutting out and you need to be there for the whole of the wash. shop are saying there isn't enough water pressure. i have the same water pressure as always ' so they are saying its because all machine have been changed from anologue to digital and i will have this problem regardless of what machine they replace it with. do you think this is correct?

Hello baud Welcome,

I believe this sounds like the screens are dirty and stopping water flow so it shuts down!
Dry all of the below suggestions.

Washer displaying code message and or tone sounds
“F20” (Water Inlet Problem—no water or insufficient
water supply)
First:
Select PAUSE/CANCEL twice to cancel the cycle. Unplug
washer or disconnect power.Leave power off for 5 minutes. This will reset the system!
Check the following:
Are water faucets completely turned on?
*****Are screens at inlet hose connection to washer clogged?
Remove hose from washer an clean screens at water inlet!

Are water inlet hoses kinked?
Are water inlet hoses frozen?
Plug in washer or reconnect power. Re-select cycle and press
START. If the problem remains, call for service.

Let me know how you do.
Thank You Huuum

Washing machine water

Firstly, do you have water at the moment? Then, your power must be on and the taps turned to on - hot, cold or both.
Secondly, the cycle must be selected and activated; by pulling or pushing the control knob.
Still not working? Check power to the house. Switch on a house light. Does it work? Plug something else into the power point. Does this work. If not, then the fuse may be blown. ELCB (safety switch) may have tripped. Reset, replace etc;
Lights on but nothing working - then switch off, unplug the machine, turn off the taps and disconnect the hoses to the machine. Most washing machines have inline water filters and these can become blocked. Clean/replace and try again.
Beyond this it may be that the solenoids are broken and need replacing. A multimeter could confirm this.

Can anyone help please - the red light came on indicating the water tap was closed, however the taps are on. Also I have cleaned out the filter as thought that could be causing a problem but the machine...

it could be a water valve fault. try to find out witch one is not letting water in. you can after doing so switch the wiring from the vavles hot to cold. run again. if you were not getting cold water and you switch the wires from cold to hot and now your getting hot when you have the cold on then you know that is a vavle problem. i hope you understand how i put that.

Light of a red tap

This is indicating a problem with the water supply, check the inlet hose/s for a restriction or kink in the hose/s.
Make sure the tap/s are fully turned on, and that there is a good water prerssure.

Water wont empty after wash alarm keeps buzzing and red light shows a picture of a tap

Hi,
Please check if there is any block in the water outlet pipe. after cleaning the outlet pipe, you can switch off the machine for an hour or so. and then again switch it on. This may help. Please get back to us if any more help is needed.
